완도군이 도서 지역의 안정적인 용수 공급을 위해 대규모 급수 인프라 구축에 나선다.

완도군(군수 신우철)은 총사업비 679억 원을 투입해 「보길(노화) 급수 구역 비상 공급망 구축 사업」을 본격 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 해남 분기점에서 노화읍까지 광역상수도를 연결하는 것으로, 총 연장 31.1㎞(육상 관로 21.9㎞, 해저 관로 9.2㎞)의 상수관로를 설치하고, 배수지 1개소와 가압장 2개소 등 일일 1,000㎥ 규모의 공급 시설을 갖출 계획이다.

군은 다음 달까지 실시설계를 완료하고, 12월에 공사를 발주해 2027년 말까지 사업을 마무리할 예정이다.

사업의 인허가 및 행정지원은 완도군이 담당하며, 설계 및 시공은 한국수자원공사가 수행한다.

군 관계자는 “해저 관로를 통한 광역상수도 공급으로 가뭄 등으로 인한 물 부족 문제를 근본적으로 해결할 수 있을 것”이라며 “사업이 조기에 착공되고 차질 없이 추진될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

Wando County is moving forward with a large-scale water supply infrastructure project to ensure a stable water supply for island regions.

According to Wando County (Governor Shin Woo-cheol), the county will invest a total of 67.9 billion KRW to implement the “Emergency Water Supply Network Construction Project for Bogil and Nohwa Water Supply Zones.”

The project aims to connect the regional water supply system from the Haenam branch point to Nohwa-eup, installing a total of 31.1 km of water pipelines (21.9 km on land and 9.2 km undersea), one water reservoir, and two pumping stations, with a daily capacity of 1,000 cubic meters.

The county plans to complete the detailed design by next month, issue the construction bid in December, and complete the project by the end of 2027.

Wando County will handle administrative permits and support, while the design and construction will be carried out by the Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water).

A county official stated, “By supplying regional water through undersea pipelines, we expect to fundamentally solve the water shortage issues caused by droughts in island areas,” adding, “We will do our utmost to ensure the project begins promptly and proceeds without any setbacks.”
