완도읍, 700억 투입 ‘농어촌 하수도 정비사업’ 본격 추진

완도군이 농어촌 지역의 생활 환경 개선과 수질 보호를 위해 총 700억 원 규모의 ‘농어촌 마을 하수도 정비사업’을 본격 추진한다.

이번 사업은 농어촌 각 가구에 설치된 개별 정화조를 폐쇄하고, 공공 하수도로 연결해 생활오수를 처리함으로써 주민들의 쾌적한 주거 환경 조성과 해역 수질 보호를 동시에 달성하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.

군은 지난 2월 69억 원을 투입해 고금면 가교리에 하루 110톤 규모의 하수처리 시설 1개소와 하수 관로 4.7km, 배수 설비 등을 설치했다.

현재는 총 243억 원을 투입해 노화읍 내리와 보길면 정동·부황리에서 공사가 진행 중이다.

또한, 89억 원을 투입한 군외면 당인리 사업은 오는 12월 착공 예정이며, 2028년 준공을 목표로 추진된다.

보길면 선창리와 고금면 상정리 사업은 162억 원 규모로 내년 하반기 착공 계획이다. 이와 함께 완도읍과 노화읍의 노후 하수관로 정비사업에도 240억 원을 투입해 노후 인프라를 개선한다.

군은 완도읍 망석리와 대신리, 고금면 청용리, 약산면 관산리를 대상으로 한 추가 사업도 환경부에 건의해 예산을 확보할 계획이다.

군 관계자는 “농어촌 지역 하수도 보급률을 높이기 위해 지속적으로 사업을 발굴하고 건의하는 데 힘쓰고 있으며, 추진 중인 사업들이 차질 없이 마무리될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

Wando-eup Launches 70 Billion KRW ‘Rural Sewage Improvement Project’
– Enhancing Residential Comfort and Protecting Coastal Water Quality –
Wando County is stepping up efforts to improve living conditions in rural areas and protect water quality by launching the 70 billion KRW Rural Village Sewage Improvement Project.
The project aims to replace individual septic tanks in rural households with public sewage connections, allowing for the proper treatment of household wastewater. This initiative is designed to simultaneously enhance residents’ living environments and safeguard coastal water quality.
In February, the county invested 6.9 billion KRW to construct a sewage treatment facility with a daily capacity of 110 tons in Gagyo-ri, Geogeum-myeon, along with 4.7 km of sewer lines and drainage facilities.
Currently, 24.3 billion KRW is being invested in ongoing construction in Naeri, Nohwa-eup, and Jeongdong and Buhwang-ri in Bogil-myeon.
Additionally, the 8.9 billion KRW project in Dangin-ri, Gunoe-myeon is scheduled to begin in December, with completion targeted for 2028. The 16.2 billion KRW projects in Seonchang-ri, Bogil-myeon, and Sangjeong-ri, Geogeum-myeon are planned to start in the second half of next year. At the same time, 24 billion KRW will be allocated to renovate aging sewer lines in Wando-eup and Nohwa-eup, upgrading outdated infrastructure.
The county also plans to request additional funding from the Ministry of Environment for projects targeting Mangsuk-ri and Daesin-ri in Wando-eup, Cheongyong-ri in Geogeum-myeon, and Gwansan-ri in Yaksan-myeon.
A county official stated, “We are continuously identifying and proposing projects to increase rural sewage coverage, and we will make every effort to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed smoothly.”
