해남교도소, 추석맞이 따뜻한 나눔 실천

법무부 해남교도소(소장 윤대하)는 민족의 대명절 추석을 맞아 지난 10월 1일(수) 관내 사회복지시설 3개소와 자매결연 마을인 영안마을에 따뜻한 지원금을 전달했다.

해남교도소는 매년 설과 추석 명절마다 아동보호시설 ‘등대원’을 비롯한 지역 내 복지시설과 자매결연 마을을 찾아 나눔 활동을 이어오고 있다.

이번 지원금은 해남교도소 직원들이 자발적으로 구성한 자조조직인 ‘땅끝봉사단’의 모금액으로 마련되어 더욱 뜻깊은 의미를 더했다.

특히 ‘땅끝봉사단’은 명절뿐 아니라 평소에도 지역사회의 어려운 이웃을 꾸준히 돌보고 있다.

면사무소의 추천을 받아 형편이 어려운 가정 3곳에 매달 후원금을 전달하는 등 지속적인 나눔 활동을 통해 지역민들과의 따뜻한 정을 나누고 있다.

윤대하 해남교도소장은 “공직자의 기본 소양인 청렴성과 봉사정신을 실천하고 있는 직원들이 자랑스럽다.”며 “앞으로도 지역사회의 도움이 필요한 곳을 찾아 나눔 문화를 확산하고, 따뜻한 해남을 만드는 데 앞장서겠다.”고 밝혔다.

지역 사회에서는 “교정시설이 단순한 교정의 공간을 넘어, 지역민과 함께하는 따뜻한 공동체의 일원으로 자리 잡고 있다”는 훈훈한 반응이 이어지고 있다.

해남교도소는 이번 추석에도 변함없이 지역과 함께하며, 작은 정성을 모아 큰 온정을 나누는 ‘청렴한 기부문화’의 모범을 보여주고 있다.

Haenam Prison Spreads Warmth During Chuseok
Donates funds to sister village and welfare facilities, leading the way in promoting a culture of integrity and giving
To celebrate the Korean Thanksgiving holiday, Chuseok, the Ministry of Justice Haenam Prison (Warden Yoon Dae-ha) delivered financial support on October 1 to three local social welfare facilities and its sister village, Yeongan Village.
Haenam Prison has continued its sharing activities every Lunar New Year and Chuseok, visiting local welfare facilities such as the children’s home Deungdaewon and its sister village to provide donations and encouragement.
This year’s support funds were raised through voluntary contributions from the prison’s employees, organized under the self-help group Ttangkkeut Volunteer Corps, making the donation all the more meaningful.
The Ttangkkeut Volunteer Corps also practices ongoing community service beyond holiday seasons. Each month, they provide financial aid to three low-income households recommended by local town offices, fostering bonds of compassion with residents through consistent acts of kindness.
Warden Yoon Dae-ha stated, “I am proud of our staff members who embody the core values of public service—integrity and volunteerism. We will continue to identify those in need within our community and take the lead in spreading a spirit of sharing and goodwill across Haenam.”
Local residents have expressed warm appreciation, noting that “Haenam Prison is no longer just a correctional facility, but an integral part of the community that shares warmth and compassion.”
Once again this Chuseok, Haenam Prison demonstrated its commitment to community solidarity, setting an example of a “culture of honest giving” through small acts of kindness that bring great warmth.
