“전통시장에 활력을, 이웃에 온정을”…해남군의회, 추석맞이 민생행보

추석 명절을 앞두고 해남군의회가 전통시장을 찾아 장보기에 나서는 한편 지역 사회복지시설을 방문해 위문품을 전달하는 등 민생 현장에서 명절의 온정을 나눴다.

해남군의회(의장 민경매)는 21일 오전 해남읍 5일시장에서 추석맞이 전통시장 장보기 행사를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 해남군의회 의원과 의회사무과 직원들이 함께 참여했다.

참석자들은 경기침체와 소비 위축으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 전통시장 상인과 소상공인들의 목소리를 살피고 지역에서 생산된 농수산물과 추석 제수용품 등을 직접 구매하며 전통시장 활성화에 힘을 보탰다.

특히 대형 유통매장과 온라인 소비 확산 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 전통시장에 실질적인 소비가 이어질 수 있도록 지역 주민들의 적극적인 시장 이용을 당부했다.

군의회는 장보기 행사에 이어 지역의 사회복지시설을 찾아 따뜻한 명절 나눔을 이어갔다.

선회노인요양원과 해남등대원 등 관내 노인복지·아동시설 11곳을 방문해 생활용품 등 위문품을 전달하고 시설 이용자와 종사자들을 격려했다.

또 명절 기간에도 현장에서 어르신과 아동들을 돌보는 사회복지시설 종사자들의 노고에 감사의 뜻을 전하고 시설 이용자들이 따뜻한 추석을 보낼 수 있도록 마음을 나눴다.

민경매 해남군의회 의장은 “추석 명절을 맞아 군민들께서도 전통시장을 많이 이용해 주시길 바란다.”며 “명절에도 현장에서 애쓰고 계시는 사회복지시설 관계자분들의 노고에 감사드린다.”고 말했다.

이어 “어르신과 아이들을 비롯한 모든 분들이 따뜻하고 풍요로운 한가위를 보내시길 바란다.”고 밝혔다.

해남군의회의 이번 행보는 추석을 앞두고 전통시장과 골목상권에 소비 활력을 불어넣는 동시에 지역의 돌봄 현장을 찾아 소외된 이웃과 명절의 정을 나누기 위해 마련됐다.

Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the Haenam County Council visited a traditional market to support local merchants and delivered慰問품 to social welfare facilities, sharing the spirit of the holiday with members of the community.
The Haenam County Council, chaired by Min Gyeong-mae, said its members and staff held a Chuseok shopping event at the Haenam Five-Day Market on the morning of September 21.
Council members and employees of the council secretariat participated in the event.
Participants listened to the concerns of traditional market merchants and small business owners struggling with the economic slowdown and sluggish consumer spending. They also purchased locally produced agricultural and marine products, as well as food and other items needed for Chuseok ancestral rites, in an effort to help revitalize the traditional market.
The council also encouraged local residents to make greater use of traditional markets so that their spending can directly benefit local merchants who are facing increasing competition from large retailers and the continued growth of online shopping.
Following the market event, council members visited social welfare facilities across the county to continue their Chuseok outreach activities.
They visited 11 facilities serving senior citizens and children, including Seonhoe Senior Care Center and Haenam Deungdaewon, where they delivered daily necessities and other gifts while offering words of encouragement to residents and staff.
The council also expressed its appreciation to social welfare workers who continue to care for senior citizens and children during the holiday period and wished everyone at the facilities a warm and joyful Chuseok.
“On the occasion of Chuseok, I hope our residents will make greater use of traditional markets and help strengthen the local economy,” Chairperson Min Gyeong-mae said. “I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff of our social welfare facilities who continue to work tirelessly even during the holiday.”
“I hope our senior citizens, children and all members of our community enjoy a warm, happy and abundant Chuseok holiday,” she added.
The Haenam County Council’s outreach activities were organized to help stimulate spending at traditional markets and neighborhood businesses ahead of Chuseok, while also sharing the warmth of the holiday with vulnerable members of the community and those working on the front lines of social care.
