2026년 해남읍 주민총회 19일 개최…주민이 직접 지역 의제 논의

해남읍 주민들이 지역 현안과 주민자치 사업에 대한 의견을 나누는 ‘2026년 해남읍 주민총회 한마당 행사’가 오는 8월 19일 오후 1시 30분 해남문화예술회관 다목적실에서 열린다.

이번 행사는 해남읍 주민자치회가 주최하고 해남읍사무소가 주관하며, 해남읍 주민 누구나 참여할 수 있다.

주민총회는 주민들이 직접 지역에 필요한 사업과 생활 현안을 논의하고, 주민자치 활동의 방향을 함께 결정하는 공론의 장이다. 행정기관 중심의 일방적인 사업 추진에서 벗어나 주민이 지역 문제를 발굴하고 해결 방안을 제안한다는 데 의미가 있다.

특히 이번 주민총회에서는 주민자치회 활동과 지역 의제에 대한 주민들의 다양한 의견을 수렴하고, 해남읍 발전을 위한 주민 참여 방안을 모색할 것으로 기대된다.

The 2026 Haenam-eup Residents’ General Assembly, a community gathering where residents can discuss local issues and community autonomy projects, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on August 19 in the multipurpose room of the Haenam Culture and Arts Center.
The event will be hosted by the Haenam-eup Residents’ Autonomy Council and organized by the Haenam-eup Administrative Welfare Center. All Haenam-eup residents are welcome to participate.
The Residents’ General Assembly is a public forum where community members discuss projects and everyday issues affecting their neighborhoods and jointly determine the future direction of local autonomy activities. It is particularly significant because residents can identify community problems and propose solutions, moving beyond a one-sided, government-led approach to local projects.
During this year’s assembly, participants are expected to share a wide range of opinions on the activities of the Residents’ Autonomy Council and local policy priorities while exploring ways to expand public participation in the development of Haenam-eup.
A prize drawing and complimentary gifts will also be offered to encourage greater interest and participation among residents.
The Haenam-eup Residents’ Autonomy Council encouraged residents to take an active interest in the event so that the assembly does not become a formality attended only by a small group of officials, but instead serves as a meaningful forum where residents’ voices are reflected in local policies and projects.
Members of the local community said, “The implementation process and outcomes of projects proposed or approved at the Residents’ General Assembly should be disclosed transparently to the public.”
They added, “A sustainable system of community autonomy must be established to ensure that residents’ opinions are meaningfully reflected in the administration of Haenam-eup.”
