해남교육지원청(교육장 조연주)은 12월 10일 청사 2층 소회의실에서 해남군청·해남교육재단·지역대학 관계자 등 16명이 참석한 가운데 ‘특이점의 시대, AI교육의 방향’을 주제로 한 AI 역량강화 연수를 개최했다.

이번 연수는 전남대학교 인공지능학부 김경백 교수 초청 특강으로 마련돼, 급변하는 AI 전환기 속에서 해남 교육이 나아갈 방향을 모색하는 자리였다.

김경백 교수는 강의에서 AI·머신러닝·딥러닝의 구조, 생성형 AI의 작동 원리, 국내외 AI 정책 변화, 학교 현장의 학생 변화, AI 윤리·안전 가이드라인 등을 실제 사례와 함께 제시했다.

그는 “AI는 이미 교육과 사회 전반에 깊숙이 들어와 있으며, 이제 필요한 것은 기술 그 자체가 아니라 AI를 비판적으로 활용할 수 있는 학습자의 역량”이라고 강조했다.

또한 UNESCO 권고안과 국내·외 AI 규정 등을 소개하며, 생성형 AI 활용 시 결과의 진실성 검증, 개인정보 보호, 전문성 기반의 책임 있는 활용 등을 학교 현장에서 반드시 준수해야 한다고 밝혔다.

김 교수는 앞으로의 교육혁신 핵심으로 메타인지 강화, 교사, 학생 관계의 재구조화, 지역 기반 분권형 AI교육 체계 구축을 제안하며, “AI 시대의 교육은 더 이상 중앙집중형이 아니라 지역이 스스로 미래교육의 표준을 만들어가는 방향이어야 한다.”고 강조했다.

해남교육지원청은 이번 연수를 계기로 해남군·교육재단·지역대학과의 협력을 확대해 ‘해남형 AI교육 생태계’ 구축을 본격화할 계획이다.

특히 학교 현장에서 안전하고 교육적인 생성형 AI 활용이 자리 잡을 수 있도록 교원 연수와 학부모 대상 AI 안내 프로그램을 지속 추진하기로 했다.

조연주 교육장은 “AI 시대에 필요한 역량은 단순한 기술 활용이 아니라 사람다움을 지키는 힘, 그리고 미래를 주도적으로 개척하는 미래다움”이라며, “해남 학생들이 지역에서 더 큰 배움을 경험할 수 있도록 해남다움이 살아 있는 AI교육을 적극 지원하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Haenam Office of Education Holds Capacity-Building Training on ‘AI Education in the Age of Singularity’
Exploring the Future Direction of Haenam-Style Education in the AI Era
The Haenam Office of Education (Superintendent Cho Yeon-ju) held an AI capacity-building training session on December 10 at the conference room on the second floor of the office building, with 16 participants including representatives from Haenam County, the Haenam Education Foundation, and local universities.
The session featured a special lecture by Professor Kim Kyung-baek of Chonnam National University’s School of Artificial Intelligence, under the theme “AI Education in the Age of Singularity.” The event served as an opportunity to explore the direction of Haenam’s educational response amid the rapidly accelerating transition into the AI era.
Professor Kim explained the structure and operating principles of AI, machine learning, and deep learning; the strengths and limitations of generative AI; global and domestic shifts in AI policy; changes in student behavior in K-12 settings; and guidelines for AI ethics and safe utilization. Through real-life examples, he emphasized that “AI has already permeated every aspect of education and society, and what we now need is not mere technical skills, but learners capable of using AI critically and responsibly.”
He further introduced UNESCO recommendations and major national and international regulations related to AI, stressing the importance of
• verifying the accuracy and authenticity of AI-generated outputs,
• protecting personal data, and
• ensuring professional responsibility in AI use
within school environments.
Highlighting the direction of future educational innovation, Professor Kim pointed to the importance of strengthening metacognition, restructuring teacher–student interaction, and building decentralized, region-based AI education systems.
He added, “In the age of AI, education must move beyond centralized models—regions should develop their own standards for future-ready education.”
The Haenam Office of Education plans to use this training as a springboard to strengthen cooperation with Haenam County, the Education Foundation, and local universities in order to establish a ‘Haenam-style AI education ecosystem.’
In particular, the office will continue to promote teacher training and AI guidance programs for parents to ensure safe, ethical, and educational use of generative AI in schools.
Superintendent Cho Yeon-ju stated, “The essential competence in the AI era is not simply technological proficiency, but the human capacity to preserve our values and proactively shape the future.” She added, “We will actively support AI education that embodies Haenam’s identity, so that our students can experience deeper and broader learning right here in their community.”
