“군민의 생명과 안전, 한 치의 타협도 없다.”

진도군이 위기 대응 역량을 전면 점검하며 ‘안전이 최고의 행정’임을 다시 한 번 확인했다.

진도군은 지난 18일 진도소방서와 함께 2025 진도군청 합동소방훈련을 실시했다.

이번 훈련은 관공서 화재 발생 시 가장 중요한 ‘초기 골든타임’을 지키기 위한 실전형 방식으로 진행되며, 자위소방대의 즉각 대응 능력 강화에 초점이 맞춰졌다.

훈련에는 진도군청 자위소방대와 진도소방서 대원 등 35명이 참여했고, 소방차 2대가 투입돼 실제 화재 현장과 같은 긴장감 속에서 훈련이 진행됐다.

훈련은 화재 발견 및 비상경보 발령, 초기 진화, 옥내소화전 사용, 직원·민원인 대피 유도, 119 신고 및 상황 전파, 소방대 도착 후 진압 및 구조 활동, 현장 안정화 조치까지 단계별로 촘촘하게 이뤄졌다.

특히 자위소방대는 소방대가 도착하기 전까지의 ‘초기 핵심 대응’을 반복 숙달하며, 어떤 상황에서도 군청 청사는 물론 방문 민원인의 안전까지 지켜낼 수 있는 역량을 집중적으로 강화했다.

직원들을 대상으로 한 소화기 사용법, 연기 회피 요령, 비상구 대피 실습 등 실제 생명을 지키는 교육도 병행돼, 훈련의 실효성이 크게 높아졌다는 평가다.

진도군 관계자는 “군청의 안전은 곧 군민의 안전과 직결된다.”며 “이번 훈련을 통해 위기 대응 절차를 확실히 점검했고, 실제 상황에서도 모두가 안전하게 대피할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 강조했다.

한편 진도군은 훈련 과정에서 확인된 보완점을 즉시 반영해 자위소방대 운영 체계를 강화하고, 재난 대응 매뉴얼을 지속적으로 개선해 ‘더 안전한 진도군청’ 만들기에 속도를 낼 방침이다.

**“No Fire Will Break Out at Jindo County Office!”
Jindo County & Jindo Fire Station Conduct Joint Fire Drill, Reaffirming ‘Safety First’ Commitment**
“There is no compromise when it comes to protecting the lives and safety of our residents.”
Jindo County has reaffirmed that “safety is the highest form of administration” by thoroughly inspecting its emergency response capabilities.
On the 18th, Jindo County conducted the 2025 Jindo County Office Joint Fire Drill in cooperation with the Jindo Fire Station.
Focused on securing the critical “initial golden time” during a fire at a government facility, the drill was carried out in a highly realistic, scenario-based format designed to strengthen the immediate response capacity of the county’s self-defense firefighting unit.
A total of 35 personnel—including the Jindo County Office self-defense firefighting team and firefighters from the Jindo Fire Station—participated, with two fire engines mobilized to simulate the tension and urgency of an actual fire scene.
The drill followed a tightly organized sequence of steps:
• Fire detection & emergency alarm activation
• Initial fire suppression
• Use of indoor fire hydrants
• Guiding employees and visitors to safety
• Reporting to 119 emergency services
• Fire suppression and rescue operations upon fire brigade arrival
• Site stabilization and post-incident procedures
In particular, the self-defense firefighting team focused on repeated training of core initial-response protocols, ensuring they could protect both the county facilities and visiting residents even before firefighters arrive.
Practical safety training was also provided to county employees, including hands-on use of fire extinguishers, smoke avoidance techniques, and evacuation procedures—greatly enhancing the training’s effectiveness.
A Jindo County official stated, “The safety of the county office is directly connected to the safety of our residents. This drill allowed us to thoroughly review our emergency response process, and we will continue doing everything possible to ensure that everyone can evacuate safely in a real emergency.”
Jindo County plans to immediately apply improvements identified during the drill, strengthen the operation of its self-defense firefighting unit, and continually refine disaster response procedures to build an even safer Jindo County Office.
