진도군이 지방세 체납액을 뿌리 뽑기 위한 강도 높은 ‘하반기 지방세 체납액 집중 정리’에 돌입했다.

군은 12월 31일까지를 ‘일제 정리 기간’으로 정하고, 전 부서가 참여하는 전면 징수 체제를 가동한다.

군은 부동산·차량·예금·매출채권 등 체납자의 모든 재산을 면밀히 조회해 필요한 경우 즉시 압류 조치를 취할 방침이다.

또한 신용정보 등록, 출국금지 요청 등 강력한 행정제재도 병행해 체납액 해소에 나선다.

특히 납부 능력이 있음에도 고의로 납부를 회피하는 악성 체납자에 대해서는 직접 방문, 지속적인 독려, 현장 징수 등 강도 높은 조치를 예고했다.

반면 경제적 어려움으로 납부가 어려운 군민에게는 분할 납부를 적극 안내하고 필요시 복지부서와 연계를 통해 세정 사각지대를 해소할 계획이다.

자동차세 2회 이상 체납 차량은 번호판 영치에 즉시 들어가며, 고액·상습 체납자에 대해서는 사업장을 직접 찾아가는 집중 현장 징수 활동이 시행된다.

진도군 관계자는 “지방세는 지역 발전과 군민 복지의 기반입니다.

성실 납세자와의 형평성을 위해 체납액 정리에는 어떤 예외도 두지 않을 것”이라며 “군민 여러분의 적극적인 납부와 협조를 부탁드리며, 신뢰받는 세정을 위해 끝까지 책임을 다하겠다.”고 강조했다.

“Jindo County Declares Zero Tolerance for Tax Delinquency… Full-Scale Collection Drive Until Late December”
Jindo County has launched an intensive campaign to eliminate all outstanding local tax arrears through its “Second Half Local Tax Delinquency Enforcement Initiative.”
The county has designated December 31 as the end of its “集中 정리 기간,” during which all departments will participate in a countywide collection operation. Throughout this period, authorities will conduct detailed investigations into taxpayers’ assets— including real estate, vehicles, bank accounts, and accounts receivable — and proceed with immediate seizure measures when necessary.
The county will also employ strong administrative actions such as credit bureau registration and requests for travel bans to ensure the recovery of unpaid taxes.
In particular, habitual and intentional delinquent taxpayers with sufficient ability to pay will face stricter measures, including direct visits, persistent follow-up, and on-site collection.
Conversely, residents genuinely struggling with financial hardship will be guided toward installment payment options, and the county will coordinate with welfare departments to close any gaps in tax administration.
Vehicles with two or more unpaid automobile tax bills will face immediate license plate seizure, while high-value or chronic tax evaders will be subject to intensified on-site collection efforts, including visits to business locations.
A Jindo County official stated,
“Local taxes are a vital financial resource that supports regional development and the welfare of our residents.
For the sake of fairness with diligent taxpayers, there will be no exceptions in addressing tax delinquencies. We ask for your active cooperation and commitment to timely payment, and we will continue striving for a trustworthy and responsible tax administration.”
