제7회 해남전국차도구공모전 수상작 전시 및 시상 안내

이번 공모전에는 전국 12개 지역에서 80여 점의 작품이 출품되었으며, 1차 사진심사와 2차 작품심사를 거쳐 총 51점의 수상작이 선정되었다.

수상작은 대상, 최우수상, 우수상 2점, 학생부 특별상 2점, 특선 10점, 입선 35점으로 구성되며, 8월 19일부터 30일까지 해남문화예술회관 기획전시실에서 전시된다.

시상식과 전시장 오프닝은 8월 27일 오후 2시, 해남문화예술회관 다목적실에서 진행된다.

이번 공모전은 다인회와 초의문화재 정신을 계승하며, 차와 차도구의 의미를 재조명하는 중요한 계기로 평가받고 있다.

차문화 발전과 창조적 차도구 개발을 목표로, 전통 백자·분청·청자에서 현대적 감각의 작품까지 다양한 차도구가 출품되었으며, 특히 학생부 특별상에는 청년 도예가들의 참신하고 실험적인 아이디어가 다수 선보여 차문화의 미래를 밝히는 계기가 되었다.

대상: 이문헌 작가, 「분청꽃살문주전자세트」 – 한국불교 건축의 꽃살문(木花格子)에서 영감을 받아 분청사기 상감기법으로 재현, 전통미와 현대적 실용성을 겸비한 다도구 세트

최우수상: 김경빈 작가, 「정류」 – 백자 연리문상감 장식, 차도구 발전에 새로운 화두 제시

우수상: 김대웅 작가 「바다의 이름으로」, 이미진 작가 「전수공핀칭차그릇」

학생부 특별상: 김예형 대학원생 「결」, 송이봉 대학생 「백설」
특선 10점, 입선 35점 – 류영실 작가 「산그늘」 등

정기봉 대회장은 “차도구의 기능과 디자인, 소재와 기법의 혁신까지 모든 면에서 심사에 심혈을 기울였다.”며, “특히 학생부 작품은 차문화와 차도구의 미래를 밝히는 신선한 아이디어로, 차문화의 발전에 큰 힘이 될 것.”이라고 밝혔다.

이번 공모전을 통해 차문화의 깊이와 다도구의 아름다움, 그리고 초의스님이 강조한 차 정신의 가치가 전국적으로 확산될 것으로 기대된다.



7th Haenam National Tea Utensil Competition: Awarded Works Exhibition and Ceremony
The 7th Haenam National Tea Utensil Competition was successfully held in Haenam, the sacred place of Korean tea culture. This year, more than 80 works were submitted from 12 regions nationwide. After the first photo screening and second round of judging, 51 works were selected for awards.
The awarded works include Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Two Merit Awards, Two Special Student Awards, 10 Honorable Mentions, and 35 Selected Works, and will be exhibited at the Haenam Cultural & Arts Center Special Exhibition Hall from August 19 to 30. The award ceremony and exhibition opening will be held on August 27 at 2 PM in the Multi-purpose Hall of the Haenam Cultural & Arts Center.
This competition is recognized as an important opportunity to inherit the spirit of Dainho and the Choui Cultural Heritage, highlighting the significance of tea and tea utensils. A wide range of works was submitted, from traditional white porcelain, buncheong, and celadon to modern designs, aiming to promote creative development of tea utensils. In particular, the Special Student Awards featured fresh and experimental ideas by young ceramists, signaling a bright future for Korean tea culture.
Highlights of Awarded Works
Grand Prize: Moonheon Lee, Buncheong Kkot-sal Teapot Set – Inspired by the floral lattice (mokhwa gajji) in Korean Buddhist architecture, realized in buncheong inlay technique, combining traditional beauty with modern practicality in a complete tea utensil set.
Excellence Award: Kyungbin Kim, Jeongryu – White porcelain with intertwined inlay designs, offering a new perspective for the development of tea utensils.
Merit Awards: Daewoong Kim, In the Name of the Sea; Mijin Lee, Jeonsu Gong Pinching Tea Bowl
Special Student Awards: Ye-hyung Kim (Graduate Student), Gyeol; Ibong Song (Undergraduate Student), Baekseol
Honorable Mentions and Selected Works: 45 pieces, including Yeongsil Ryu’s Mountain Shade

Competition Chair Jeong Gi-bong stated, “We carefully evaluated all aspects of tea utensils, including function, design, materials, and techniques. Especially, the student works showed innovative and experimental designs that will drive the future development of tea culture.”
This competition is expected to contribute to the nationwide recognition of Korean tea culture, the beauty of tea utensils, and the enduring spirit of Choui Seunim, inspiring both traditional and modern approaches to tea practice.
