완도소방서(서장 이민석)가 지역 안전을 책임질 새내기 소방관 6명을 맞이하며 현장 대응력 강화에 나섰다.

완도소방서는 3월 3일 소방서장실에서 신규 소방공무원 임용식을 열고 구급대원 4명과 화재 진압대원 2명 등 총 6명의 신임 소방공무원을 공식 임용했다고 밝혔다.

이번에 임용된 신규 대원들은 완도119안전센터에 4명, 고금119안전센터에 2명이 각각 배치돼 즉시 현장 대응 업무에 투입될 예정이다. 소방서는 이번 인력 충원을 통해 구급·화재 대응 현장의 공백을 줄이고, 보다 신속한 구조·구급 활동이 가능해질 것으로 기대하고 있다.

이날 임용식은 임용장 수여를 시작으로 신규 대원 선서와 서장 간담회 순으로 진행됐다. 행사에서는 군민의 생명과 재산을 지키는 소방공무원의 사명감과 현장 중심의 책임 의식을 되새기는 시간이 마련됐다.

신규 구급대원들은 “군민이 119를 부르는 순간 가장 먼저 떠올리는 존재가 되도록 기본에 충실하겠다.”며 “응급상황에서 단 한 생명이라도 더 지킬 수 있도록 현장 경험을 빠르게 쌓아 팀에 도움이 되는 대원이 되겠다.”고 각오를 밝혔다.

진압대원들 역시 “화재와 구조 현장에서 원칙과 안전수칙을 철저히 지키고, 신속하고 정확한 대응으로 군민에게 신뢰받는 소방관이 되겠다.”고 다짐했다.

이민석 완도소방서장은 “인력 여건이 넉넉하지 않은 상황에서 이번 신규 인력 충원은 각 센터의 현장 대응에 큰 힘이 될 것”이라며 “군민의 생명과 재산을 지킨다는 막중한 사명감을 항상 가슴에 새기고 기본과 원칙을 바탕으로 안전한 완도를 만드는 데 함께해 달라”고 당부했다.

Wando Fire Station (Chief Lee Min-seok) has welcomed six newly appointed firefighters who will help safeguard the safety of the local community.
According to the fire station, an appointment ceremony for new firefighters was held on March 3 in the chief’s office. A total of six recruits—four paramedics and two fire suppression officers—were officially appointed.
The newly appointed firefighters will be immediately deployed to field duties, with four assigned to the Wando 119 Safety Center and two to the Gogeum 119 Safety Center. The fire station expects the additional personnel to help reduce operational gaps in emergency medical and firefighting responses and enable faster rescue and emergency services.
The ceremony included the presentation of appointment certificates, a pledge by the new firefighters, and a meeting with the fire chief. The event served as an opportunity to reinforce the sense of mission and responsibility required of firefighters who protect the lives and property of local residents.
The newly appointed paramedics stated, “We will stay true to the basics so that when residents dial 119, we are the first people they can rely on. We will quickly build field experience and do our best to save even one more life in emergency situations while contributing to our team.”
The fire suppression officers also expressed their commitment, saying, “We will strictly follow principles and safety procedures at fire and rescue scenes and strive to become firefighters trusted by the community through swift and accurate response.”
Chief Lee Min-seok said, “Given the limited staffing conditions, the addition of these new firefighters will greatly strengthen the on-site response capabilities of each center.” He added, “Always keep in mind the heavy responsibility of protecting the lives and property of residents, and work together to build a safer Wando based on fundamentals and principles.”
