진도군, 전복 소비 촉진 할인판매… 청정해역 전복 우수성 전국에 알려

진도군이 고수온과 판매 부진으로 어려움을 겪는 전복양식 어가를 돕기 위해 전복 소비 촉진 할인판매 행사를 펼쳤다.

이번 행사는 진도의 깨끗한 바다에서 길러낸 전복의 우수성과 영양 가치를 널리 알리는 계기가 됐다.

군은 지난 8월 26일부터 28일까지 「전남 청년 4-H 회원 한마음 야영 교육」 참가자들과, 8월 30일 개최된 「제10회 진도군수배 호남권 생활체육 탁구대회」, 「제20회 진도군수배 전남광주 생활체육 테니스대회」 동호인들을 대상으로 전복 할인판매를 진행했다.

행사장을 찾은 방문객들은 청정해역에서 생산된 진도 전복의 신선함과 풍부한 영양에 큰 호응을 보냈다.

김희수 진도군수, 박지원 국회의원, 박금례 진도군의회 의장, 김인정 도의원 등 주요 인사들도 행사장을 방문해 전복 소비 촉진에 힘을 보탰다.

김종석 진도군전복양식협회 회장은 “진도 전복은 단백질과 필수 아미노산이 풍부한 대표 건강식품”이라며 “군의 적극적인 지원과 관심에 감사드리며, 앞으로 더욱 품질 높은 전복을 생산해 소비자에게 다가가겠다.”고 말했다.

진도군은 앞으로도 전복 안정 생산 기반 마련, 판로 확대, 전복 요리 레시피 개발 등 다각적인 지원책을 추진할 계획이다.

한편, 이번 현장 판매에 앞서 8월 20일부터 25일까지는 관내 기관·단체 임직원을 대상으로 사전접수를 받아 약 2,720kg, 8,700만 원 상당의 전복이 판매돼 진도 전복의 인기를 입증했다.

Jindo County Holds Abalone Promotion Sale… Promoting the Excellence of Abalone from Pristine Coastal Waters Nationwide
― Supporting Local Fisheries and Expanding Healthy Food Consumption ―
Jindo County has launched a special abalone promotion sale to support local abalone farms struggling with rising seawater temperatures and sluggish sales.
The event served as an opportunity to highlight the excellence and nutritional value of abalone grown in the pristine coastal waters of Jindo.
From August 26 to 28, the county held discount sales for participants of the Jeonnam Youth 4-H United Camping Program. On August 30, the promotion continued during the 10th Jindo County Governor’s Cup Honam Region Sports for All Table Tennis Tournament and the 20th Jindo County Governor’s Cup Jeonnam-Gwangju Sports for All Tennis Tournament.
Visitors at the venues responded enthusiastically to the freshness and rich nutrition of Jindo abalone, harvested from clean seas.
Key figures, including Jindo County Governor Kim Hee-soo, National Assembly Member Park Ji-won, Jindo County Council Chair Park Geum-rye, and Provincial Assembly Member Kim In-jeong, also attended the events to lend support to the abalone consumption campaign.
Kim Jong-seok, Chairman of the Jindo Abalone Farming Association, said, “Jindo abalone is a representative health food, rich in protein and essential amino acids. We are deeply grateful for the county’s active support and concern. We will continue to strive to produce higher-quality abalone that can reach more consumers.”
Looking ahead, Jindo County plans to strengthen support measures, including ensuring stable production, expanding sales channels, and developing new recipes using abalone.
Meanwhile, prior to the on-site sales events, the county organized a pre-order campaign from August 20 to 25 targeting employees of local institutions and organizations. Approximately 2,720 kilograms of abalone worth 870 million KRW were sold, underscoring the strong demand for abalone from Jindo’s clean coastal waters.
