해남경찰서 읍내지구대(대장 박석정)가 지능화되는 전화금융사기(보이스피싱) 피해를 근절하기 위해 ‘피싱예방 벨소리 앱’ 설치 캠페인을 적극 전개하고 있다.

‘피싱 예방 벨소리 앱’은 낯선 번호로 전화가 걸려올 때 경고음이 울려 사용자가 즉시 경각심을 갖도록 돕는 보안 앱으로, 최근 고령층을 중심으로 효과적인 범죄 예방 수단으로 주목받고 있다.

읍내지구대는 관내 금융기관, 노인복지시설, 버스터미널, 대중교통 승강장 등 다중 이용시설에 안내 리플릿을 비치하고, 주민들이 직접 앱을 설치·활용할 수 있도록 현장 맞춤형 안내 활동을 실시했다.

특히 보이스 피싱 주요 타깃으로 지목되는 고령자들에 대해서는 경찰관이 직접 앱을 설치해 주고, 피해 발생 시 즉시 신고하도록 세심하게 지도했다.

박석정 읍내지구대장은 “보이스피싱은 단 한순간의 방심이 평생의 피해로 이어질 수 있다”며 “한 통의 전화도 의심하고, 한 번의 벨소리로 자신을 지키는 금융안전 문화를 만들어 나가겠다.”고 강조했다.

읍내지구대는 앞으로도 지속적인 홍보활동과 주민 참여 캠페인을 통해 해남 지역의 ‘보이스피싱 제로(Zero) 마을’ 조성에 앞장설 계획이다.

Eumnae Police Precinct of Haenam Police Station Launches Intensive Campaign Against Voice Phishing
The Eumnae Police Precinct of Haenam Police Station (headed by Chief Park Seok-jung) is actively conducting a campaign to promote the installation of the “Anti-Phishing Ringtone App” as part of its efforts to eradicate increasingly sophisticated voice phishing crimes.
The Anti-Phishing Ringtone App is a security application that plays a special warning tone whenever a call is received from an unfamiliar number, helping users immediately recognize potential scam attempts. It has recently gained attention, particularly among the elderly, as an effective crime prevention tool.
The precinct has placed informational leaflets at banks, senior welfare centers, bus terminals, and public transportation stops, and has been conducting on-site demonstrations to help residents easily install and use the app.
In particular, police officers personally assisted elderly residents—who are most vulnerable to voice phishing—by installing the app on their phones and instructing them to report any suspicious calls immediately.
Chief Park Seok-jung emphasized,
“A single moment of carelessness can lead to lifelong financial loss,” adding that
“We aim to create a safe financial environment where residents can protect themselves by questioning every call and relying on one warning bell to stay alert.”
The Eumnae Police Precinct plans to continue public awareness campaigns and community participation initiatives to make Haenam a “Voice Phishing Zero” community.
