완도해경, 추석 연휴에도 ‘골든타임’ 사수

완도해양경찰서(서장 김길규)는 추석 연휴 기간(10월 3일~9일) 동안 관내 도서지역에서 발생한 응급환자 5명을 신속히 이송하며, 의료 사각지대에 놓인 섬 주민들의 소중한 생명을 지켰다고 10일 밝혔다.

완도해경에 따르면 지난 4일 저녁, 청산도에 거주하는 60대 여성이 낙상으로 머리와 목을 다쳤다는 신고가 접수되자 경비함정이 즉시 출동해 환자를 완도항으로 긴급 이송했다.

이틀 뒤인 6일에는 서넙도에서 70대 남성이 자택 창고에 쓰러져 있다는 신고가 접수돼 노화파출소 연안구조정이 긴급 출동했으며, 같은 날 밤 청산도에서는 90대 여성이 하복부 통증을 호소해 경비함정이 신속히 대응해 이송했다.

이어 7일에는 노화도에서 60대 남성이 낙상으로 눈 주변과 갈비뼈 부상을 입어 연안구조정이 긴급히 출동해 환자를 이송했으며, 같은 날 오후에도 노화도에서 90대 여성이 가슴과 어깨 통증을 호소해 안전하게 병원으로 이송했다.

완도해경 관계자는 “추석 연휴에도 긴급 상황에 대비해 24시간 구조태세를 유지했다”며 “도서지역 응급환자 발생 시 한순간의 지체도 없이 대응해 국민의 생명을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Five Emergency Patients Transported Swiftly from Island Areas, Protecting Residents’ Lives
The Wando Coast Guard (Chief Kim Gil-gyu) announced on the 10th that during the Chuseok holiday period (October 3–9), officers promptly transported five emergency patients from island areas within their jurisdiction, safeguarding the lives of residents in medical blind spots.
According to the Coast Guard, on the evening of October 4, a report was received that a woman in her 60s residing on Cheongsando had fallen and injured her head and neck. A patrol vessel was immediately dispatched, transporting the patient urgently to Wando Port.
Two days later, on October 6, a man in his 70s was found collapsed in a warehouse at his home on Seonupdo, prompting the Nowha Coast Guard station’s inshore rescue boat to respond swiftly. Later that same night, a woman in her 90s on Cheongsando complained of lower abdominal pain and was promptly transported by a patrol vessel.
On the 7th, another emergency occurred on Nowhado, where a man in his 60s suffered facial and rib injuries from a fall. The inshore rescue boat again responded quickly to transfer the patient. Later that afternoon, a woman in her 90s on Nowhado complaining of chest and shoulder pain was also safely transported to the hospital.
A Wando Coast Guard official stated, “Even during the Chuseok holidays, we maintained a 24-hour emergency response posture,” adding, “We will continue to respond without delay to any emergencies on the islands to protect the lives of our citizens.”
