“진도군, ‘삼색 키위’ 고품질 생산 박차…현장 자문으로 경쟁력 강화”

진도군농업기술센터가 삼색 키위 산업의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 병해충 관리와 재배 기술 교육에 나섰다.

농업기술센터는 지난 9월 9일부터 16일까지 총 3회에 걸쳐 ‘삼색 키위 연구회 현장 자문(컨설팅)’을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 키위 재배 농가의 기술 수준을 높이고 친환경 병해충 관리 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

현장 자문에는 ‘벌레 박사’로 알려진 이기상 박사가 참여해 키위 주요 병해충의 특성과 방제 시기, 친환경 방제 기술 등을 강의했다.

이어 농가 현장에서 확대경을 활용해 해충 발생 특성을 관찰하고, 친환경 관리법과 방제 기술 실습, 질의응답이 이어졌다.

특히 마지막 날인 9월 16일에는 박동만 박사(키위 컨설턴트)가 초빙돼 키위 수형 구성, 여름 전정, 최신 재배 기술 등을 주제로 특강을 진행하며 농가들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

이번 교육을 통해 연구회원들은 키위 재배의 이해도를 높이고 현장에 적용할 수 있는 실질적인 기술을 습득한 것으로 평가된다.

진도군농업기술센터 관계자는 “농가 맞춤형 현장 교육이 삼색 키위의 고품질 생산과 산업 경쟁력 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대한다.”며 “앞으로도 지역 농업인들에게 도움이 되는 실용적이고 지속적인 교육을 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.

“Jindo County Accelerates High-Quality ‘Tri-Color Kiwi’ Production with On-Site Consulting to Boost Competitiveness”
The Jindo County Agricultural Technology Center has launched efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of the local tri-color kiwi industry through pest management and cultivation training.
The center announced that it held the “Tri-Color Kiwi Research Society On-Site Consulting Program” over three sessions from September 9 to 16.
The program aimed to enhance farmers’ technical skills and improve their capacity for environmentally friendly pest management.
Dr. Lee Ki-sang, widely known as the “Bug Doctor,” provided lectures on the characteristics of major kiwi pests, optimal timing for pest control, and eco-friendly pest management techniques.
Participants then moved to farms for field consulting, where they used magnifying tools to observe pest characteristics and engaged in hands-on training in eco-friendly management methods and pest control techniques, followed by Q&A sessions.
On the final day, September 16, kiwi consultant Dr. Park Dong-man delivered a special lecture on kiwi tree shaping, summer pruning, and the latest cultivation technologies, drawing strong interest and positive feedback from local farmers.
Through the program, members of the research society deepened their understanding of kiwi cultivation and gained practical skills applicable to their farms.
A representative from the Jindo County Agricultural Technology Center said,
“We expect this tailored, field-focused training to contribute to the production of high-quality tri-color kiwis and strengthen the industry’s competitiveness. We will continue to provide practical, ongoing education that supports local farmers.”
