해남 송평해변, 맨발걷기 명소로 각광

해남 화산면 송평해변이 맨발걷기 명소로 주목받고 있다.

지난 8월 29일부터 31일까지 송평해변 일원에서는 전국 여성 150명이 참가한 ‘우먼베이스캠프(WBC)’가 열려, 달밤과 아침 맨발걷기 프로그램을 체험했다.

참가자들은 바다를 배경으로 부드러운 모래사장을 맨발로 걸으며, 바쁜 일상에서 벗어나 자연 속 힐링의 시간을 즐겼다.

송평해수욕장은 화산면 구성리에서 송평리까지 이어지는 1.6㎞의 해안선으로, 해남에서 가장 긴 모래사장을 자랑한다.

사람의 발길이 적어 깨끗하게 보존된 해안과 짙푸른 바다가 어우러진 이국적인 풍광이 특징이다.

특히 넓고 부드러운 모래사장은 맨발걷기에 최적화되어 있어 참가자들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

주변 마을 주민을 중심으로 시작된 맨발걷기는 최근 해남 전역에서 동호인들이 찾는 인기 체험으로 자리 잡았다.

촉촉한 바닷가 모래를 밟는 경험은 발바닥에 다양한 자극을 주어 맨발걷기의 효과를 극대화할 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있다.

군 관계자는 “이번 행사를 통해 송평해변이 힐링 여행지로서 지닌 가능성을 확인했다.”며, “앞으로 해남 대표 맨발걷기 명소로 발전할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 해남군은 방문객 편의를 위해 송평해변에 세족장을 설치하고, 경관을 살린 벽화를 조성했다. 또한 2026년 코리아둘레길 걷기 행사와 연계해 송평해변 맨발걷기 프로그램 운영도 검토 중이다.

깨끗한 모래사장과 탁 트인 바다가 어우러진 송평해변은, 지역을 찾는 관광객들에게 자연 속 힐링과 특별한 체험을 동시에 제공하는 명소로 자리매김하고 있다.

Songpyeong Beach in Haenam Emerges as a Premier Barefoot Walking Destination
"Walk on the sand and unwind from the busy daily life"
Haenam’s Songpyeong Beach in Hwasan-myeon is gaining attention as a popular destination for barefoot walking.
From August 29 to 31, the beach hosted the “Women Base Camp (WBC),” attracting 150 women from across the country. Participants enjoyed barefoot walking programs at night and in the morning, experiencing the serene coastal environment.
Participants strolled along the soft sandy beach with the sea as their backdrop, taking a break from their busy routines and enjoying a moment of natural relaxation.
Songpyeong Beach stretches 1.6 km from Guseong-ri to Songpyeong-ri in Hwasan-myeon, making it the longest sandy beach in Haenam. Its pristine coastline, rarely touched by foot traffic, and the deep blue sea create a picturesque, almost exotic landscape.
The wide and soft sand of Songpyeong Beach is particularly well-suited for barefoot walking, earning enthusiastic responses from participants.
Barefoot walking, initially popularized by local residents, has recently attracted walking enthusiasts from across Haenam, becoming a unique and sought-after experience. Walking on the moist, soft sand stimulates the soles of the feet, maximizing the benefits of barefoot walking.
A local government official said, “This event confirmed the potential of Songpyeong Beach as a healing travel destination. We will actively support its development as Haenam’s representative barefoot walking spot.”
To enhance visitor convenience, Haenam County has installed foot-washing facilities and created murals to improve the scenic environment. Plans are also being considered to operate barefoot walking programs at Songpyeong Beach in conjunction with the 2026 Korea Dulegil Trail event.
With its clean sand and expansive sea views, Songpyeong Beach has established itself as a destination offering both natural healing and a unique experiential attraction for visitors.
