전남광주통합특별시가 오는 10월 16일부터 30일까지 광주지역에 등록된 반려견과 반려묘를 대상으로 가을철 광견병 예방접종을 실시한다. 백신은 3,830마리분이며 선착순으로 접종한다.

접종을 희망하는 보호자는 동물등록증이나 외장형 등록장치·인식표를 지참해 광주권 지정 동물병원 89곳 가운데 한 곳을 방문하면 된다. 접종 기간 보호자 부담금은 마리당 5,000원이다. 다만 반려동물이 임신했거나 건강 상태에 이상 소견이 있으면 접종이 제한될 수 있다.

백신이 소진되면 10월 30일 이전에도 사업이 마감될 수 있다.
지정 동물병원은 전남광주통합특별시 누리집 공지사항 또는 120콜센터(062-120)에서 확인할 수 있다.

광견병은 동물에서 사람으로 전파될 수 있는 감염병이다. 통합특별시는 반려동물과 시민의 건강을 보호하기 위해 봄과 가을에 예방접종 사업을 시행하고 있다.

배귀숙 농업동물정책과장은 “소중한 반려동물의 건강과 시민 안전을 위해 광견병 예방접종에 적극 참여해주기를 바란다.”고 말했다.

The Jeonnam–Gwangju Special Metropolitan Government will offer fall rabies vaccinations for registered dogs and cats in the Gwangju area from October 16 to 30. Vaccines are available for 3,830 animals on a first-come, first-served basis.
Owners seeking vaccination should bring their pet’s registration certificate or an external registration device or identification tag to one of 89 designated veterinary clinics in the Gwangju area. The owner’s share of the cost is 5,000 won per animal during the program. Vaccination may be declined if an animal is pregnant or shows signs of a health problem.
The program may close before October 30 if vaccine supplies run out. A list of designated clinics is available in the notices section of the Jeonnam–Gwangju Special Metropolitan Government website or through its 120 call center at 062-120.
Rabies is an infectious disease that can spread from animals to humans. The special metropolitan government runs vaccination programs in spring and fall to protect pets and residents.
“We encourage pet owners to take part in rabies vaccination to protect their cherished animals and the public,” said Bae Gwi-suk, director of the Agriculture and Animal Policy Division.
