추석 명절을 앞두고 해남교육지원청이 지역아동센터를 찾아 위문품을 전달하고 방과 후 돌봄과 교육 현장의 어려움을 직접 듣는 등 지역사회와 따뜻한 나눔을 실천했다.

전남광주통합특별시해남교육지원청(교육장 조연주)은 지난 21일 추석 명절을 맞아 지역사회 나눔문화 확산을 위한 ‘2026년 추석 명절 맞이 사회복지시설 위문품 전달’ 행사를 진행했다고 22일 밝혔다.

조연주 교육장은 이날 새하늘지역아동센터(대표 김창숙)와 시등지역아동센터(대표 김민덕)를 차례로 방문했다.

조 교육장은 각 센터의 운영 현황과 아동들의 교육·돌봄 환경을 살펴본 뒤 시설 관계자들과 만나 현장에서 겪고 있는 어려움과 애로사항을 청취했다.

특히 이번 방문은 명절을 맞아 물품을 전달하는 일회성 위문에 그치지 않고 지역아동센터가 실제 현장에서 어떤 역할을 하고 있으며, 아동 돌봄 과정에서 어떤 어려움을 겪고 있는지 직접 확인하는 데 의미를 뒀다.

지역아동센터는 방과 후 돌봄이 필요한 아동들에게 보호와 교육뿐 아니라 다양한 문화·체험 프로그램 등을 제공하며 지역사회 아동 돌봄의 한 축을 담당하고 있다.

해남교육지원청은 이 같은 지역아동센터의 역할을 공유하고 아이들이 안전하고 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 교육기관과 지역사회가 지속적으로 협력해야 한다는 데 뜻을 모았다.

조 교육장은 센터 관계자들의 노고를 격려하고 추석 명절을 맞아 마련한 위문품도 전달했다.

교육지원청은 이번 방문을 통해 지역아동센터 운영 관계자들과 소통하면서 현장의 어려움을 살펴보고 향후 교육기관과 지역사회가 함께 협력할 수 있는 방안에 대해서도 의견을 나눴다고 설명했다.

조연주 교육장은 “추석 명절을 앞두고 지역의 아이들을 위해 애써주시는 지역아동센터 관계자분들의 노고에 감사드린다.”며 “아이들이 안전하고 행복하게 성장할 수 있도록 현장의 목소리에 더욱 귀 기울이고, 지역사회와 함께 따뜻한 교육공동체를 만들어 가겠다.”고 말했다.

해남교육지원청은 앞으로도 지역 내 사회복지시설과 소외되기 쉬운 이웃을 대상으로 나눔 활동을 이어가는 한편, 지역 아동들이 건강하고 행복하게 성장할 수 있도록 지역사회와의 협력도 강화할 방침이다.

Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the Haenam Office of Education visited local community children’s centers to deliver gifts and listen directly to the challenges faced by those providing after-school care and educational services, putting the spirit of community sharing into practice.
The Haenam Office of Education, headed by Superintendent Cho Yeon-joo, said on Sept. 22 that it had held its “2026 Chuseok Holiday Social Welfare Facility Support and Gift Delivery” program on Sept. 21 to promote a culture of sharing and strengthen ties with the local community.
Cho visited the Saehaneul Community Children’s Center, headed by Kim Chang-sook, and the Sideung Community Children’s Center, headed by Kim Min-deok.
During the visits, Cho reviewed the centers’ operations and their educational and childcare environments. She also met with staff members to hear firsthand about the challenges and difficulties they encounter in their day-to-day work.
The visits were designed to go beyond the customary delivery of holiday gifts. The education office placed particular emphasis on understanding the role community children’s centers play in the field and identifying the practical difficulties they face in caring for local children.
Community children’s centers play an important role in the local childcare system by providing children in need of after-school care with protection and educational support, as well as a variety of cultural and experiential programs.
The Haenam Office of Education highlighted the importance of these centers and shared the view that educational institutions and the local community should continue working together to ensure that children can grow up in a safe and healthy environment.
Cho also expressed her appreciation to the center staff for their dedication and presented gifts prepared for the Chuseok holiday.
The education office said the visits provided an opportunity to communicate directly with community children’s center staff, examine the difficulties they face and discuss ways educational institutions and the local community can work together more closely.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at the community children’s centers who works tirelessly for our local children, especially as we approach the Chuseok holiday,” Cho said. “We will listen even more closely to voices from the field and work together with the local community to build a warm and caring educational community where every child can grow up safely and happily.”
The Haenam Office of Education said it will continue its outreach and support for socially vulnerable residents and social welfare facilities while strengthening cooperation with the local community to help children grow up healthy and happy.
