해남경찰서와 해남군 자율방범대가 아동·청소년 보호와 범죄 예방을 위해 힘을 모았다.

해남경찰서(서장 박미영)는 지난 6일 열린 해남군 자율방범연합대 한마음체육대회에 참여해 자율방범대원 및 가족들을 대상으로 청소년 보호와 지역사회 범죄예방을 위한 홍보활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.

이번 활동은 지역 치안의 협력자로 활동하고 있는 자율방범대원들과 여성·청소년 분야 치안활동의 중요성을 공유하고 청소년 범죄와 실종아동 예방 등에 대한 지역사회의 관심을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.

특히 경찰은 행사장을 찾은 자율방범대원과 가족들에게 아동·청소년 실종 예방을 위한 ‘지문 등 사전등록제’를 집중적으로 안내했다.

지문 등 사전등록은 아동 등의 지문과 사진, 보호자 연락처 등 신상정보를 경찰 시스템에 미리 등록해 실종사건이 발생했을 때 신속하게 신원을 확인하고 보호자를 찾을 수 있도록 지원하는 제도다.

경찰은 이와 함께 청소년 보호와 학교폭력 예방을 비롯한 다양한 범죄예방 활동을 홍보하며 지역사회 구성원들의 적극적인 관심과 참여를 당부했다.

해남경찰서는 자율방범대가 주민들과 가까운 현장에서 활동하고 있는 만큼 경찰과 자율방범대의 긴밀한 협력이 범죄 예방과 지역 안전망 강화에 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

해남경찰서 여성청소년과는 앞으로도 자율방범대를 비롯한 지역사회 협력단체와 지속적으로 소통하면서 아동과 청소년이 안전하고 주민들이 안심할 수 있는 지역사회 안전망 구축에 나설 방침이다.

특히 사건 발생 이후 대응하는 치안활동을 넘어 학교폭력과 청소년 범죄, 아동 실종 등을 사전에 막을 수 있는 예방 중심의 치안활동을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.

박미영 해남경찰서장은 “지역사회의 안전을 위해 힘써주시는 자율방범대원들의 노고에 감사드린다.”며 “앞으로도 경찰과 지역사회가 함께 힘을 모아 아동·청소년을 보호하고 주민들이 체감할 수 있는 안전한 해남을 만들어 나가겠다.”고 말했다.

The Haenam Police Station and the Haenam County Volunteer Patrol Association have joined forces to protect children and adolescents and prevent crime in the local community.
The Haenam Police Station, headed by Chief Park Mi-young, said it participated in the Haenam County Volunteer Patrol Association’s Unity Sports Day on September 6, carrying out a crime-prevention campaign for volunteer patrol members and their families.
The campaign was organized to raise awareness of public safety initiatives involving women and youth, including the prevention of juvenile crime and missing-child cases, while strengthening the community safety network through cooperation with volunteer patrol members, who serve as key partners in maintaining local security.
In particular, police actively promoted the Advance Fingerprint Registration Program among volunteer patrol members and their families as an effective measure to help prevent and respond to cases involving missing children and adolescents.
Under the program, fingerprints, photographs, contact information for guardians, and other identifying information can be registered in advance in the police system. If a registered person goes missing, the information can help police quickly confirm the person’s identity and reunite them with their family or guardian.
Police also conducted various crime-prevention awareness activities focusing on youth protection and the prevention of school violence, encouraging local residents to take an active interest in community safety.
The Haenam Police Station expects that close cooperation with volunteer patrol members, who work directly with residents in neighborhoods across the county, will contribute significantly to crime prevention and the strengthening of the local safety network.
The Women and Juvenile Affairs Division of the Haenam Police Station plans to continue communicating and cooperating with volunteer patrol units and other community organizations to establish a stronger safety network where children and adolescents are protected and residents can feel secure.
In particular, the police will continue to emphasize preventive policing, going beyond responding to incidents after they occur by working proactively to prevent school violence, juvenile crime, and cases involving missing children.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the volunteer patrol members for their dedication to keeping our community safe,” Chief Park Mi-young said.
“We will continue to work closely with the local community to protect children and adolescents and make Haenam a safer place where residents can truly feel secure in their daily lives,” she added.
