음악으로 지역 어르신들에게 따뜻한 위로와 즐거움을 전하는 특별한 공연이 해남가나안요양원에서 3년째 이어져 훈훈함을 더하고 있다.

해남가나안요양원은 지난 30일 요양원 로비에서 업무협약을 맺은 땅끝오케스트라를 초청해 입소 어르신들을 위한 일요일 특별 위문공연을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 공연은 해남가나안요양원과 땅끝오케스트라가 체결한 업무협약(MOU)에 따른 지역사회 문화예술 나눔 활동의 하나로 마련됐다.

특히 땅끝오케스트라는 해마다 요양원을 찾아 어르신들에게 음악을 통한 위로와 즐거움을 선사하며 3년째 특별한 인연을 이어가고 있다.
이날 단원들은 어르신들에게 친숙한 클래식 음악을 비롯해 추억을 떠올릴 수 있는 대중가요와 민요 등 다양한 곡을 오케스트라 선율로 재해석해 선보였다.

공연이 시작되자 요양원 로비는 작은 음악회장으로 변했다. 어르신들은 익숙한 노래가 연주될 때마다 박자를 맞춰 손뼉을 치거나 노래를 함께 따라 부르며 모처럼 흥겨운 시간을 보냈다.

단순히 음악을 들려주는 공연을 넘어 연주자와 어르신들이 음악으로 서로 교감하는 시간이 됐다는 점에서도 의미를 더했다.

김홍길 해남가나안요양원장은 “지난해에 이어 올해도 주말의 고요한 시간에 요양원을 찾아 어르신들에게 큰 감동을 선물해 주신 땅끝오케스트라 단원 여러분께 진심으로 감사드린다.”며 “음악을 통해 어르신들이 활력을 되찾고 행복해하시는 모습을 보니 매우 기쁘고 보람을 느낀다”고 말했다.

정희승 땅끝오케스트라 감독은 “정기적인 공연을 통해 어르신들을 다시 만나 눈을 맞추고 음악으로 소통할 수 있어 오히려 단원들이 더 큰 위로와 감동을 받고 있다”며 “앞으로도 업무협약을 바탕으로 지역사회와 문화예술 향유 기회가 상대적으로 적은 이웃들을 위한 따뜻한 음악 나눔 활동을 지속해 나가겠다.”고 밝혔다.

해남가나안요양원과 땅끝오케스트라는 앞으로도 업무협약을 바탕으로 어르신들의 정서적 안정과 문화 향유 기회를 확대하기 위한 다양한 교류와 문화예술 프로그램을 이어갈 계획이다.

A special musical performance bringing comfort, joy, and warmth to elderly residents has continued for the third consecutive year at Haenam Canaan Nursing Home.
Haenam Canaan Nursing Home announced that on Sunday, August 30, it hosted a special concert for its residents in the facility’s lobby, inviting the Ttangkkeut Orchestra, with which the nursing home has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
The concert was organized as part of the two organizations’ MOU-based efforts to share culture and the arts with the local community.
In particular, the Ttangkkeut Orchestra has visited the nursing home each year, offering comfort and happiness through music and continuing a meaningful relationship with the residents for the third year.
During the performance, orchestra members presented a diverse program ranging from familiar classical pieces to nostalgic popular songs and traditional Korean folk music, all reinterpreted through orchestral arrangements.
As the concert began, the nursing home lobby was transformed into a small concert hall. Whenever familiar melodies were played, residents clapped to the rhythm, sang along, and enjoyed a cheerful Sunday afternoon.
The event was especially meaningful because it went beyond simply presenting music. It became an opportunity for the musicians and residents to connect and communicate with one another through music.
Kim Hong-gil, director of Haenam Canaan Nursing Home, said, “I sincerely thank the members of the Ttangkkeut Orchestra for visiting us again this year and bringing such a moving experience to our residents during a quiet weekend.”
He added, “It is very gratifying and rewarding to see our residents regain their vitality and happiness through music.”
Jeong Hee-seung, artistic director of the Ttangkkeut Orchestra, said, “Through these regular performances, we are able to meet the seniors again, look into their eyes, and communicate through music. In many ways, our orchestra members receive just as much comfort and inspiration from them.”
Jeong added, “Based on our partnership, we will continue to carry out warm cultural and artistic outreach activities for local communities and for people who have relatively fewer opportunities to enjoy arts and culture.”
Haenam Canaan Nursing Home and the Ttangkkeut Orchestra plan to continue their partnership by expanding cultural and artistic programs and exchanges aimed at supporting the emotional well-being of elderly residents and providing them with greater opportunities to enjoy cultural experiences.
