해남경찰서 송지파출소가 농촌지역 교통사고 예방을 위해 마을 이장단을 대상으로 고령 보행자와 농기계 교통안전교육을 실시했다.

해남경찰서(서장 박미영) 송지파출소(소장 최복원)는 지난 19일 송지면 마을 이장단을 대상으로 고령 보행자 및 경운기 등 농기계 교통안전교육을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 농촌지역 도로에서 차량 통행이 지속적으로 이뤄지는 가운데 고령 보행자와 농기계 관련 교통사고 위험이 높아짐에 따라 사고 예방을 위해 마련됐다.

특히 농촌지역에서 발생할 수 있는 보행자 및 농기계 교통사고 사례를 소개하고, ▲안전한 보행 방법 ▲경운기 등 농기계 안전운행 요령 ▲음주 후 보행 및 농기계 운행의 위험성 등을 중점적으로 안내했다.

송지파출소는 주민들이 일상생활에서 쉽게 접하는 교통안전 사례를 중심으로 교육해 이장단이 각 마을 주민들에게 안전수칙을 적극적으로 전달할 수 있도록 하는 데에도 힘썼다.

최복원 송지파출소장은 “각 마을 이장님들과의 소통을 더욱 강화하고 교통사고가 발생하지 않도록 지속적인 교육과 홍보, 단속을 병행하겠다”며 “주민들이 안심하고 생활할 수 있는 안전한 송지면을 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.

해남경찰서는 앞으로도 농촌지역 고령 보행자와 농기계 운전자 등을 대상으로 교통안전 홍보와 교육을 지속적으로 실시하고, 교통사고 예방을 위한 현장 중심의 활동을 강화할 방침이다.

The Songji Police Substation of the Haenam Police Station conducted traffic safety education for village leaders to help prevent traffic accidents involving elderly pedestrians and agricultural machinery in rural areas.
The Haenam Police Station, headed by Chief Park Mi-young, and the Songji Police Substation, headed by Chief Choi Bok-won, announced that they held a traffic safety education session on the 19th for village leaders in Songji-myeon, focusing on elderly pedestrians and agricultural machinery such as cultivators and farm tractors.
The education program was organized to prevent accidents amid the continued presence of vehicles on rural roads and the heightened risk of traffic accidents involving elderly pedestrians and agricultural machinery.
In particular, the session introduced examples of pedestrian and agricultural machinery accidents that can occur in rural areas and focused on ▲safe pedestrian practices, ▲safe operation of cultivators and other agricultural machinery, and ▲the dangers of walking or operating agricultural machinery after consuming alcohol.
The Songji Police Substation also used traffic safety cases that residents commonly encounter in their daily lives, encouraging village leaders to actively share safety guidelines with residents in their respective villages.
Choi Bok-won, Chief of the Songji Police Substation, said, “We will strengthen communication with village leaders and continue to combine education, public awareness campaigns, and enforcement efforts to prevent traffic accidents.” He added, “We will work to make Songji-myeon a safe community where residents can live with peace of mind.”
The Haenam Police Station plans to continue traffic safety education and awareness campaigns for elderly pedestrians and agricultural machinery operators in rural areas, while strengthening field-oriented activities aimed at preventing traffic accidents.
