해남경찰서 화산파출소가 지역 주민들과 함께 집중호우에 따른 산사태 위험지역과 각종 안전사고 취약지를 살피는 합동순찰을 실시했다.

해남경찰서(서장 박미영) 화산파출소(소장 이홍주)는 화산생활안전협의회(회장 정경섭) 회원들과 함께 지역 내 범죄와 안전사고 예방을 위한 합동순찰을 전개했다고 20일 밝혔다.

이번 순찰은 경찰과 주민이 함께 지역의 위험요인을 사전에 살펴 주민들의 체감안전도를 높이고 각종 사고를 예방하기 위해 마련됐다.
경찰과 생활안전협의회 회원들은 특히 집중호우가 발생할 경우 산사태 등 안전사고가 우려되는 지역을 중심으로 현장을 점검했다.

순찰 과정에서는 태양광발전시설 설치 현장도 방문했다. 야외에서 작업하는 근로자들에게 시원한 얼음물을 전달하고 폭염에 따른 온열질환 예방수칙과 집중호우 시 산사태 예방을 위한 안전수칙 준수를 당부했다.

이번 활동은 단순한 범죄예방 순찰을 넘어 폭염과 집중호우 등 계절성 재난 위험까지 함께 살피는 주민 밀착형 생활안전 활동이라는 점에서 의미가 있다.

특히 농촌지역은 산사태 위험지역과 야외 작업장이 곳곳에 분산돼 있어 경찰과 행정기관뿐 아니라 현장을 잘 아는 주민들의 지속적인 관심과 신고가 중요하다.

이홍주 화산파출소장은 “지역사회의 안전은 경찰뿐만 아니라 주민 모두의 관심과 참여가 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 생활안전협의회 등 지역사회 협력단체와 지속적인 합동순찰을 통해 주민들이 안심하고 생활할 수 있는 안전한 지역을 만들어 나가겠다.”고 밝혔다.

The Hwasan Police Substation of Haenam Police Station conducted a joint patrol with local residents to inspect landslide-prone areas and other locations vulnerable to safety accidents during periods of heavy rainfall.
Haenam Police Station, headed by Chief Park Mi-young, announced on August 20 that the Hwasan Police Substation, led by Chief Lee Hong-ju, carried out a joint patrol with members of the Hwasan Community Safety Council, chaired by Jeong Gyeong-seop, to prevent crime and safety accidents in the area.
The patrol was organized to identify potential hazards in advance through cooperation between police and residents, improve residents’ sense of security, and prevent various types of accidents.
Police officers and members of the Community Safety Council focused their inspections on areas where landslides and other safety accidents could occur in the event of torrential rainfall.
During the patrol, they also visited a solar power installation site. They distributed cold bottled water to outdoor workers and encouraged them to follow safety guidelines for preventing heat-related illnesses as well as precautions against landslides during heavy rainfall.
The initiative is significant in that it goes beyond conventional crime-prevention patrols and represents a community-oriented safety effort addressing seasonal disaster risks such as extreme heat and heavy rain.
In rural areas in particular, landslide-prone locations and outdoor workplaces are widely dispersed, making continued attention and reporting by residents who are familiar with local conditions especially important, alongside efforts by police and local authorities.
“The safety of our community depends not only on the police but also on the interest and participation of all residents,” Chief Lee Hong-ju said. “We will continue conducting joint patrols with community partners, including the Community Safety Council, to create a safer environment where residents can live with peace of mind.”
