해남경찰서 화산파출소가 주민과 소상공인을 대상으로 물품 대리구매 ‘노쇼(No-Show) 사기’ 피해 예방 활동에 나섰다.

물품 대리구매 노쇼 사기는 물품을 대신 구매하거나 주문하도록 한 뒤 구매자가 약속한 시간에 나타나지 않거나 연락을 끊어 대리구매자와 소상공인에게 경제적 피해를 주는 수법이다.

화산파출소는 최근 관내 소상공인 업소를 직접 방문해 부착형 노쇼 예방 안내문을 전달하고 주요 피해 사례와 예방법을 안내했다.

경찰은 대리구매나 예약 주문을 받을 때 상대방의 연락처와 주문 내용을 정확하게 확인하고, 고액 또는 다량 주문의 경우 실제 구매 의사가 있는지 사전에 다시 확인해야 한다고 당부했다.

특히 공공기관을 사칭해 물품 대리구매를 요청하는 사례에 대비해 해당 기관의 공식 전화번호로 직접 연락해 구매 요청이 사실인지 확인해야 한다고 강조했다.

상대방이 특정 업체의 물품을 대신 구매하도록 유도하거나 급하게 송금을 요구할 경우에는 거래를 즉시 중단하고 경찰에 신고해야 한다.

이홍주 화산파출소장은 “물품 대리구매 과정에서 발생하는 노쇼는 소상공인들에게 실질적인 경제적 피해를 준다.”며 “안전하고 신뢰할 수 있는 거래문화가 정착되도록 지속적인 예방 홍보활동을 펼치겠다.”고 밝혔다.

The Hwasan Police Substation of Haenam Police Station has launched a campaign to protect residents and small-business owners from proxy-purchase “no-show” scams.
Such scams involve asking a business or individual to purchase or prepare goods on someone’s behalf, only for the supposed buyer to fail to appear at the agreed time or cut off contact, leaving the seller or proxy purchaser with financial losses.
Officers recently visited small businesses within their jurisdiction, distributed prevention notices for display and provided guidance on common scam tactics and precautionary measures.
Police advised businesses to carefully verify customers’ contact information and order details when accepting proxy-purchase or reservation orders. For large-volume or high-value orders, sellers should reconfirm the customer’s genuine intention to complete the purchase.
They also stressed that any proxy-purchase request claiming to come from a government agency or public institution should be verified by contacting the organization directly through its official telephone number.
If a person directs a business owner to purchase goods from a particular supplier or demands an urgent money transfer, the transaction should be stopped immediately and reported to the police.
“Proxy-purchase no-shows cause substantial financial losses for small-business owners,” Hwasan Police Substation Chief Lee Hong-ju said. “We will continue our preventive outreach activities to help establish a safe and trustworthy trading culture.”
