제9회 전국동시지방선거 공식 선거운동이 본격화된 가운데 더불어민주당 민형배 후보가 22일 해남을 전격 방문해 명현관 후보 지원유세에 나서며 지역 정가의 이목을 집중시켰다.

이번 동행 유세는 ‘민주당 원팀(One-Team)’ 결속을 대내외에 과시하고 해남 지역 표심 결집을 위한 총력전 성격으로 진행됐다.
이날 유세는 오전 북평 남창 오일장에서 시작됐다. 명현관 후보는 노중희·박상정 군의원 후보와 김미경·김연수 비례대표 후보 등과 함께 시장을 돌며 상인과 주민들을 만나 민생 현안을 청취하고 지지를 호소했다.

이어 유세팀은 현산농협 앞과 화산면사무소 앞으로 이동해 릴레이 거리유세를 이어가며 지역 곳곳에서 촘촘한 민심 공략에 나섰다.
정오 이후에는 해남읍 매일시장과 홍교다리 일대에서 대규모 집중 유세가 펼쳐졌다. 해남을 찾은 민형배 후보는 시장 상인들과 직접 인사를 나누며 명현관 후보에 대한 압도적인 지지를 호소했다.

특히 이날 유세의 하이라이트는 홍교다리에서 열린 ‘홍교다리 총유세’였다. 민형배 후보와 명현관 후보를 비롯한 민주당 출마자 전원이 단상에 집결해 원팀 체제를 강조했고, 현장에 모인 군민들의 뜨거운 환호와 박수 속에 대규모 세몰이 분위기를 연출했다.

해남 출신인 민형배 후보는 지원 연설 과정에서 홍교다리 인근 상가 상호를 일일이 호명하며 고향에 대한 각별한 애정을 드러냈고, 특유의 친근한 화법으로 현장 분위기를 한층 끌어올렸다.

민형배 후보는 유세 연설에서 균형발전과 지역 투자 필요성도 강하게 강조했다.

민 후보는 “재계의 300조 투자가 또다시 수도권이나 이미 잘 사는 지역으로 집중된다면 그것은 균형발전이 아니라 지역 격차 확대”라며 “호남에 대한 200조 집중 투자야말로 이재명 정부가 추구하는 ‘억강부약’ 경제철학의 실질적 실현이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

이어 명현관 후보는 해남의 미래 산업 비전을 제시하며 “해남은 단순한 농어촌을 넘어 대한민국 AI와 신재생에너지 산업 중심지로 빠르게 도약하고 있다”고 강조했다.

명 후보는 “국내 최대 규모의 RE100 기반과 안정적인 전력 인프라를 갖춘 해남은 글로벌 첨단산업의 최적지”라며 “국가 AI컴퓨팅센터와 RE100 국가산단, 에너지 자립도시 지정을 통해 해남의 산업 지도를 완전히 바꾸겠다.”고 밝혔다.

또 “민형배 통합특별시장 후보와 긴밀하게 협력해 첨단 AI 산업과 신재생에너지가 공존하는 지속가능한 ‘농어촌수도 해남’을 반드시 완성하겠다”며 3선 도전을 향한 강한 의지를 드러냈다.

홍교다리 총유세를 마친 뒤에도 명현관 후보와 유세팀은 오후 일정으로 땅끝 관광지와 송지면 일대 상가를 차례로 방문하며 소상공인과 어민들을 대상으로 밀착 민생 행보를 이어갔다.
민주당 원팀 유세단은 금요일 하루 동안 해남 전역을 누비며 민생 현장 중심의 광폭 행보를 이어간 가운데, 지역 유권자들과의 적극적인 접촉을 통해 선거 분위기 확산과 지지층 결집에 총력을 기울였다.

Massive campaign rallies from Honggyo Bridge to Namchang Five-Day Market, Ttangkkeut and Songji… “Haenam to Rise as Korea’s AI and Renewable Energy Hub”
As the official campaign period for the 9th Nationwide Local Elections gains momentum, Democratic Party candidate Min Hyung-bae visited Haenam on Friday, joining the campaign trail to support Myung Hyun-gwan and drawing significant political attention across the region.
The joint campaign was widely viewed as a major effort to demonstrate the solidarity of the Democratic Party’s “One-Team” alliance while consolidating voter support throughout Haenam.
The day’s campaign activities began early in the morning at the Namchang Five-Day Market in Bukpyeong. Candidate Myung, accompanied by county council candidates Noh Jung-hee and Park Sang-jeong, as well as proportional representation candidates Kim Mi-kyung and Kim Yeon-su, toured the marketplace greeting merchants and residents, listening to local concerns, and appealing for public support.
The campaign team then moved to the front of Hyeonsan Nonghyup and the Hwasan Township Office, continuing a series of relay-style street campaigns aimed at strengthening grassroots voter outreach across the region.
Around noon, a large-scale 집중 rally unfolded near Haenam-eup Maeil Market and Honggyo Bridge. Candidate Min personally greeted market vendors and residents while calling for overwhelming support for Candidate Myung.
The highlight of the day was the major “Honggyo Bridge Grand Rally.” Candidate Min, Candidate Myung, and Democratic Party candidates gathered together on stage to emphasize party unity, drawing enthusiastic cheers and applause from large crowds of local residents.
A native of Haenam, Candidate Min drew particular attention during his speech by personally naming nearby businesses around Honggyo Bridge, displaying deep affection for his hometown and energizing the crowd with his trademark approachable speaking style.
During the rally, Candidate Min also strongly emphasized balanced national development and regional investment.
“If another 300 trillion won in corporate investment flows once again to the Seoul metropolitan area or already prosperous regions, that is not balanced development but merely an expansion of inequality,” Min stated. “A concentrated 200 trillion won investment in Honam would represent the true economic realization of President Lee Jae-myung’s philosophy of ‘supporting the weak and restraining the powerful.’”
Candidate Myung then outlined Haenam’s future industrial vision, stressing that “Haenam is rapidly emerging beyond a traditional rural community into one of Korea’s leading centers for AI and renewable energy industries.”
He added, “With the nation’s largest RE100-based renewable energy infrastructure and stable power capacity, Haenam is the ideal location for global high-tech industries. Through the National AI Computing Center, RE100 national industrial complexes, and an energy self-sufficient city initiative, we will completely transform Haenam’s industrial landscape.”
Myung further declared, “Working closely with Candidate Min Hyung-bae, we will build a sustainable ‘Rural Capital Haenam’ where cutting-edge AI industries and renewable energy coexist,” reaffirming his strong determination for a third term.
Even after the Honggyo Bridge rally concluded, Candidate Myung and the campaign team continued their outreach by visiting businesses and communities around Ttangkkeut tourist destination and Songji-myeon, engaging directly with small business owners and fishermen.
Throughout Friday, the Democratic Party’s united campaign team traveled across Haenam carrying out extensive grassroots outreach efforts, focusing on direct communication with residents while intensifying efforts to expand election momentum and consolidate voter support.
