완도군 고금면의 전통문화 단체인 고금상정궐궁농악보존회가 지난 11월 15일부터 16일까지 열린 제46회 남도 국악제에서 농악 부문 대상, 종합 장려상을 동시에 거머쥐며 남도 전통예술의 위상을 드높였다.
남도 국악제는 남도 지역의 전통예술 보존과 계승을 위해 매년 개최되는 대표 국악 경연대회로, 각 지역을 대표하는 전통예술 단체들이 참가해 기량을 겨루는 권위 있는 무대다.
고금상정궐궁농악보존회는 탄탄한 구성력, 섬세한 장단, 전통 농악 본연의 흥과 멋을 완성도 높게 펼쳐 보이며 심사위원들로부터 뜨거운 호평을 받았다.
평소 지역 행사 참여와 꾸준한 전통문화 보존 활동으로 주민들과 함께 농악의 맥을 이어오고 있는 보존회는, 이번 수상을 통해 고금면 전통문화의 가치를 널리 알리는 계기를 마련했다.
특히 이번 성과로 내년에 열리는 전국대회에는 전라남도 대표로 당당히 출전하게 됐다.
서말순 고금면장은 “고금의 전통문화를 지키고자 오랜 시간 한길을 걸어온 회원들의 땀과 열정이 값진 결실을 맺었다.”며 “앞으로도 지역 전통예술의 활성화를 위해 지원을 아끼지 않겠다.”고 축하와 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
고금의 울림이 남도를 넘어 전국으로 뻗어 나갈 새로운 도약이 기대된다.

“Gogeum Nongak Resonates Across Namdo!”
Gogeum Sangjeong Gweolgung Nongak Preservation Society Wins Grand Prize at Namdo Gugak Festival
The Gogeum Sangjeong Gweolgung Nongak Preservation Society, a traditional cultural organization based in Gogeum-myeon, Wando-gun, achieved remarkable success by winning the Grand Prize in the Nongak category and the Overall Encouragement Award at the 46th Namdo Gugak Festival held from November 15 to 16.
The Namdo Gugak Festival is a prestigious traditional music competition held annually to preserve and advance traditional arts in the Namdo region. Representative traditional performance groups from across the region participate to showcase their skills on this highly respected stage.
The Gogeum Sangjeong Gweolgung Nongak Preservation Society impressed the judges with its solid ensemble, delicate rhythmic expression, and a vibrant performance that fully captured the authentic spirit and beauty of Korean traditional nongak.
Consistently participating in local events and cultural preservation activities, the society has been working closely with residents to keep the legacy of nongak alive. This latest achievement serves as a significant opportunity to promote the cultural value of Gogeum-myeon more widely.
With this honor, the group will proudly represent Jeollanam-do in next year’s national competition.
