진도군이 오는 21일(금) 오후 2시, 진도군청 대회의실에서 성진 스님과 하성용 신부를 초청해 올해 마지막 ‘진도 군민행복 아카데미’를 개최한다.
종교는 다르지만 ‘사람’이라는 공통의 길 위에서 살아온 두 연사가 한자리에 모여, 군민들과 함께 마침과 시작의 의미, 그리고 삶이 주는 조용한 위로를 나누는 특별한 시간이다.
이번 강연의 주제는 ‘마침과 시작’.
성진 스님은 “새출발을 위한 비움의 지혜”를 들려주며, 다시 걸음을 내딛기 위한 마음의 여백을 제안한다.
하성용 신부는 “끝맺음의 용기”라는 메시지를 통해 누구나 겪는 인생의 쉼표를 따뜻하게 이야기하며, 멈추는 순간의 의미를 군민들과 함께 성찰하는 시간을 마련한다.
서로 다른 길을 걸어온 두 사람이지만, 이번 무대에서는 화합과 공감, 그리고 군민 행복이라는 같은 목표 아래 한 목소리를 낸다.
종교적 차이를 넘어 삶을 바라보는 깊은 시선을 공유하는 만큼, 군민들이 일상 속에서 작은 위로와 용기를 얻는 시간이 될 것으로 기대된다.
진도군 관계자는 “바쁜 일상 속 잠시 멈추어 자신을 돌아보는 시간이 되길 바랍니다. 두 분이 전하는 배움과 성찰이 군민 여러분의 삶을 조금 더 따뜻하고 단단하게 만들어줄 것”이라며 기대감을 전했다.
진도군은 올해 마지막 강좌인 이번 ‘군민행복 아카데미’를 통해 서로를 이해하고 응원하는 공동체의 가치가 더욱 단단해지길 바라고 있다.

“An Ending Is the Beginning of Another Journey” … Jindo County Concludes the Year’s Final ‘Citizen Happiness Academy’ with Ven. Seongjin and Father Ha Seong-yong
Jindo County will hold the final session of this year’s “Jindo Citizen Happiness Academy” on Friday, November 21 at 2 p.m. in the Jindo County Office auditorium, inviting Ven. Seongjin and Father Ha Seong-yong to share their insights.
Although they walk different religious paths, the two speakers come together on the shared path of “humanity” to reflect with residents on the meaning of endings and beginnings, offering a quiet sense of comfort that life gives us all.
The theme of the lecture is “Ending and Beginning.”
Ven. Seongjin will speak on “The Wisdom of Letting Go for a New Start,” encouraging participants to create the inner space needed to take their next steps forward.
Father Ha Seong-yong will deliver a message titled “The Courage to Conclude,” sharing warm reflections on life’s pauses and offering a moment of introspection on the meaning of bringing things to a close.
Though their journeys differ, the two speakers stand on one stage with a shared purpose: harmony, empathy, and the happiness of Jindo residents.
By offering deep perspectives that transcend religious boundaries, the session is expected to provide everyday comfort and courage to those attending.
A Jindo County official remarked,
“May this be a moment for residents to pause amid their busy lives and reflect on themselves. We hope that the wisdom and insight shared by both speakers will make your daily life warmer and stronger.”
With this final lecture of the year, Jindo County hopes to further strengthen the spirit of community—one in which people understand, support, and uplift one another.
