진도군이 10월 30일 군내면에서 2025년산 공공비축미 건조벼 매입을 시작하며 올해 공공비축미 수매의 첫 문을 열었다.
이날 매입 행사에는 진도군 농업기술센터 소장, 농업지원과장, 국립농산물품질관리원 전남지원장과 진도사무소장 등 관계 기관과 지역 농업인 50여 명이 참여했다.
올해 매입 품종은 ‘새청무’와 ‘강대찬’으로, 국립농산물품질관리원의 품질 검사 후 매입이 진행됐다.
진도군은 2023년부터 2년 연속으로 ‘광주·전남 특등비율 1위’를 기록하며 품질 우수성을 인정받았다.
올해는 3년 연속 1위 달성을 목표로 건조벼, 친환경벼, 가루쌀 등 총 25만 3,217포대(40kg 기준)를 순차적으로 매입할 계획이다.
공공비축미 매입 가격은 10월부터 12월까지의 전국 평균 산지 쌀값을 기준으로 결정되며, 매입 직후 포대당 4만 원의 중간 정산금이 지급되고, 최종 정산은 12월 말까지 완료될 예정이다.
김희수 진도군수는 “진도군은 지난 2년간 공공비축미 특등비율 광주·전남 1위를 차지했으며, 전남 10대 고품질 브랜드 쌀에도 선정돼 전국 최고 수준의 품질을 인정받았다”며, “올해도 농가와 함께 힘을 모아 3년 연속 1위를 달성해 진도의 명성을 이어가겠다.”고 밝혔다.
한편, 공공비축미로 지정되지 않은 품종을 출하할 경우, 향후 5년 동안 공공비축미 매입 대상에서 제외되므로 농가들은 반드시 올해 지정된 품종만 출하해야 한다.

Jindo County Begins Procurement of 2025 Public Grain Stocks in Jeonnam — Aiming for 3rd Consecutive Year as Top-Grade Rice Leader
Jindo County opened the procurement season for 2025 public grain stocks on October 30 in Gunnae-myeon, officially kicking off this year’s purchase of dried rice.
The procurement event was attended by approximately 50 local farmers, along with officials including the Director of Jindo Agricultural Technology Center, the Head of the Agricultural Support Division, and the Jeonnam Branch Director and Jindo Office Director of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service.
This year, the purchased rice varieties are Saechungmu and Kangdaechan, with purchases proceeding after quality inspections conducted by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service.
Jindo County has been recognized for its rice quality, achieving the highest ratio of top-grade rice in Gwangju and Jeonnam for two consecutive years since 2023.
This year, the county aims to maintain its top position for a third consecutive year, planning to sequentially purchase a total of 253,217 bags (40kg each) of dried rice, eco-friendly rice, and rice flour.
The purchase price for public grain stocks will be determined based on the nationwide average farmgate rice price from October to December. Immediately after purchase, an interim payment of 40,000 KRW per 40kg bag will be made, with final settlement expected by the end of December.
Mayor Hee-soo Kim stated, “Jindo County has achieved the top-grade rice ratio for two consecutive years in Gwangju and Jeonnam, and has been selected among Jeonnam’s top 10 high-quality rice brands, earning recognition for the highest quality nationwide. This year, we will continue working with local farmers to achieve first place for the third consecutive year and uphold Jindo’s reputation.”
Meanwhile, farmers are strictly advised to only submit rice varieties designated for public stockpiling this year. Any varieties not designated for public grain stocks will be excluded from procurement for the next five years.
