해남군이 다가오는 한가위 명절 연휴와 LPGA BMW 레이디스 챔피언십, 전라남도 캠핑관광박람회 등 대규모 행사를 앞두고 손님맞이 준비에 나섰다.
군은 지난 29일 군청 앞 군민광장에서 ‘대한민국 새단장 캠페인’과 ‘관광 친절·위생 결의대회’를 개최하고, 깨끗하고 친절한 해남을 만들기 위한 군민과 관계자들의 결의를 다졌다.
이번 행사에는 해남군 산림조합, 이통장연합회, 환경단체, 자원봉사단체, 외식업·숙박업 관계자와 군청 직원 등 약 300명이 참여했다.
외식업지부와 이통장연합회 대표는 함께 결의문을 낭독하며 “민·관이 협력해 깨끗하고 위생적인 환경 조성과 관광객 친절 서비스 실천을 위해 힘쓰겠다.”고 약속했다.
결의대회가 끝난 뒤에는 참여자 전원이 해남읍내 전역에서 환경 정화활동을 펼치며 쾌적한 시가지 조성에 나섰다.
‘대한민국 새단장 캠페인’은 추석과 APEC 정상회의를 맞아 중앙정부와 지방자치단체, 국민이 함께 국토를 깨끗하게 정비하는 범국민 청결운동이다.
해남군은 9월 22일부터 10월 2일까지를 집중 청소주간으로 지정하고, 추석맞이 일제대청소, 방치 생활쓰레기 정리, 해안·농촌·도로·관광지·하천·공원 등 분야별 집중 수거 활동을 전개하고 있다.
명현관 해남군수는 “해남을 세계에 선보이는 중대한 행사가 예정된 만큼, 관광객들에게 청결한 환경과 감동을 주는 친절 문화를 제공하기 위해 최선을 다할 것”이라며 “군민들과 관련 업계의 적극적인 협조를 부탁드린다.”고 밝혔다.
이번 캠페인과 결의대회를 통해 해남군은 깨끗하고 친절한 손님맞이 분위기를 조성하며, 세계인이 찾는 ‘환영 도시 해남’으로 도약할 준비를 마쳤다.

“The World is Coming to Haenam” – Pledging Cleanliness and Hospitality Ahead of Chuseok, LPGA, and Camping Tourism Expo
Haenam County is gearing up to welcome visitors ahead of the upcoming Chuseok holiday, the LPGA BMW Ladies Championship, and the Jeollanam-do Camping Tourism Expo.
On the 29th, the county held the “Korea Cleanup Campaign” and the “Tourism Courtesy &Hygiene Pledge Ceremony” at the Citizens’ Square in front of Haenam County Hall, reaffirming the commitment of residents and stakeholders to create a clean and friendly environment.
Approximately 300 participants, including representatives from the Haenam County Forestry Association, the Union of Village Leaders, environmental organizations, volunteer groups, and local food service and lodging businesses, as well as county employees, joined the event.
Representatives from the Food Service Association and the Union of Village Leaders read a joint pledge, promising that “the public and private sectors will work together to maintain a clean, hygienic environment and provide courteous service to visitors.”
Following the ceremony, all participants took part in a citywide cleanup in Haenam-eup, contributing to a more pleasant and welcoming urban environment.
The “Korea Cleanup Campaign” is a nationwide initiative aimed at beautifying the country, carried out in coordination with the central government, local governments, and citizens, in celebration of Chuseok and the APEC Summit.
Haenam County designated the period from September 22 to October 2 as a “Focused Cleaning Week,” during which activities such as Chuseok holiday cleanup, collection of abandoned waste, and intensive collection at coasts, rural areas, roads, tourist sites, rivers, and parks are being conducted.
County Governor Myung Hyun-gwan stated, “With major events showcasing Haenam to the world, we will do our utmost to provide visitors with a clean environment and an impressive culture of hospitality. We ask for active cooperation from residents and related industries.”
Through this campaign and pledge ceremony, Haenam County has fostered a culture of cleanliness and friendliness, preparing itself to become a “welcoming city” for visitors from around the world.
