진도군은 민족 대명절 추석을 맞아 지역 사회복지시설을 방문하며 따뜻한 나눔을 실천했다고 2일 밝혔다.
김희수 진도군수는 지난 9월 29일 진도군 공립요양원, 노인전문요양원, 진도군 노인요양원, 꽃단지 노인요양 공동생활가정, 모란 노인요양 공동생활가정, 생명의 숲 장애인 공동생활가정 등 총 6곳의 사회복지시설을 찾아 소고기와 과일 등 위문품을 전달하고, 생활 어르신들과 담소를 나누며 직원들의 노고를 격려했다.
이번 방문은 추석 명절에도 가족과 떨어져 생활하는 이웃들이 소외되지 않고 따뜻한 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 마련됐으며, 사회복지 현장에서 헌신하는 종사자들에게 감사의 뜻을 전하는 자리로 마련됐다.
김희수 군수는 “명절을 맞아 이웃 모두가 웃을 수 있는 평안한 추석이 되길 바란다.”며, “열악한 여건 속에서도 어려운 이웃을 위해 헌신하는 사회복지시설 종사자들께 감사드리며, 앞으로도 군민이 체감할 수 있는 복지 향상을 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
한편, 진도군은 오는 10월 2일 ‘민관합동 온기나눔 캠페인’을 개최해 복지 사각지대를 해소하고 고독사를 예방하며 생활 불편을 개선하는 데 앞장설 계획이다.

Jindo County Visits Social Welfare Facilities to Celebrate ChuseokVisits six facilities, delivers gifts to create a warm holiday atmosphere
Jindo County announced on October 2 that it visited local social welfare facilities to practice warm-hearted sharing during the Chuseok holiday.
On September 29, Mayor Kim Hee-soo visited six social welfare facilities, including the Jindo County Public Nursing Home, Senior Specialized Nursing Home, Jindo County Senior Nursing Home, Kkotdanji Senior Nursing Group Home, Moran Senior Nursing Group Home, and Saengmyeong Forest Group Home for People with Disabilities. He delivered gifts such as beef and fruits, spent time talking with the residents, and encouraged the staff for their dedication and hard work.
The visits were organized so that neighbors who live apart from their families during the Chuseok holiday would not feel isolated and could enjoy a warm holiday. The event also provided an opportunity to express gratitude to the workers dedicated to social welfare.
Mayor Kim Hee-soo said, “I hope everyone can have a peaceful and joyful Chuseok with their neighbors. I sincerely thank the staff of social welfare facilities who devote themselves to helping vulnerable people despite difficult conditions, and I will continue to do my best to improve welfare services that residents can truly feel.”
Meanwhile, Jindo County plans to hold the “Public-Private Joint Warmth Sharing Campaign” on October 2 to address welfare blind spots, prevent solitary deaths, and help resolve daily inconveniences for residents.
