완도해양경찰서(서장 김길규)는 3일 가을철 성어기를 맞아 해양사고 예방과 낚시어선 안전 운항을 위해 관내 주요 낚시어선 현장점검을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

김길규 서장은 연안구조정을 이용해 완도 관내 주꾸미 낚시어선 주요 조업지인 사후도, 고마도원동 일대를 순찰하며, 연안 해역의 위험 요소를 확인하고 낚시어선을 대상으로 구명조끼 착용 홍보 등 안전관리 실태를 점검했다.

이번 점검에서는 주꾸미 금어기 해제(8월 31일) 이후 낚시어선이 밀집하는 해역에서의 안전운항 당부, 연안 저수심 및 통항 교차지점 등 사고 다발 해역 점검, 낚시어선 선장 대상 고속 운항 및 견시 소홀 금지 지도, 낚시객 대상 구명조끼 착용 홍보와 안전사고 예방 계도 활동 등이 이루어졌다.

김길규 완도해경서장은 “가을철 성어기를 맞아 낚시어선 운항이 크게 늘면서 안전사고 위험도 높아지고 있다.”며 “앞으로도 해양사고를 사전에 예방하고 국민이 안심할 수 있는 안전한 바다를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

The Wando Coast Guard (Chief Kim Gil-kyu) announced on the 3rd that it conducted on-site inspections of major fishing boats in the area to prevent maritime accidents and ensure safe operations ahead of the autumn peak fishing season.
Chief Kim patrolled key fishing grounds for webfoot octopus near Sahudo, Gomado, and Wondong using a coastal rescue boat, checking for potential hazards in coastal waters and promoting life jacket use among fishing boat operators as part of safety management measures.
The inspection focused on ensuring safe navigation in areas crowded with fishing boats following the end of the webfoot octopus closed season on August 31, checking accident-prone zones such as shallow coastal areas and busy shipping intersections, advising boat captains against high-speed operation and inattentive watchkeeping, and promoting life jacket use and accident prevention among passengers.
Chief Kim Gil-kyu of Wando Coast Guard stated, “With the increase in fishing boat operations during the autumn peak season, the risk of maritime accidents also rises. We will continue to do our utmost to prevent accidents in advance and maintain a safe sea where the public can feel secure.”
