진도군이 고수온으로 피해를 입은 전복종자 생산 어가를 돕기 위해 농수산물 가격 안정 기금을 긴급 지원한다.
이번 조치는 고수온으로 인한 생산 차질과 경영난을 완화하고 어가 소득을 지키기 위한 것이다.
지원 대상은 관내 전복종자 생산 어가로, 피해 정도에 따라 고수온 대응 장비 구매비 등 일정 금액이 지급된다.
군은 신속한 지원을 통해 어업인들의 위기 극복을 돕는다는 방침이다.
김희수 진도군수는 “기후변화로 인한 고수온 현상이 어업인들의 삶을 위협하고 있다”며 “농수산물 가격 안정 기금 지원이 피해 어가의 경영 안정에 실질적인 도움이 되기를 바란다.”고 밝혔다.
한편, 지난해 진도군 전복종자 생산량은 1,503톤으로 전국의 25.6%를 차지했으며, 총 357억 원의 매출을 올렸다.
하지만 최근 기후변화로 인한 수온 상승과 생태계 변화가 전복 산업에 위기 요인으로 작용하고 있어, 지역 수산업의 안정적 지속을 위한 대응책 마련이 시급한 과제로 떠오르고 있다.

Jindo County Extends Full Support to Abalone Seed Farmers Hit by High Water Temperatures
― Agricultural and Fisheries Price Stabilization Fund to Ease Financial Burden and Secure Income ―
Jindo County announced that it will urgently provide support from the Agricultural and Fisheries Price Stabilization Fund to abalone seed farmers affected by high water temperatures.
This measure aims to alleviate production setbacks and management difficulties caused by rising sea temperatures, while safeguarding the income of local fish farmers.
The support will be given to abalone seed farmers within the county, with the amount varying depending on the level of damage. Eligible expenses include the purchase of equipment designed to respond to high-temperature conditions. The county plans to ensure swift assistance to help local fishers overcome this crisis.
Jindo County Governor Kim Hee-soo stated, “The phenomenon of high water temperatures caused by climate change is threatening the livelihoods of our fishers. I hope that the support from the Agricultural and Fisheries Price Stabilization Fund will serve as a meaningful contribution to stabilizing their operations.”
Meanwhile, Jindo County produced 1,503 tons of abalone seed last year, accounting for 25.6% of the national output, and achieved sales worth 35.7 billion KRW. However, rising sea temperatures and ecological changes driven by climate change are emerging as serious risk factors for the abalone industry, making the development of sustainable countermeasures an urgent priority.
