해남군, 생계급여수급자 대학생 월세 및 기숙사비 지원

해남군이 2025년 특수시책사업으로 생계급여 수급가구 대학생의 주거비 부담 완화에 나선다.

이번 사업은 경제적 어려움 속에서 학업을 이어가는 지역 대학생들에게 실질적인 도움을 주기 위해 마련됐다.

신청 기간은 오는 9월 2일부터 15일까지이며, 지원 대상은 월세나 기숙사에 거주하는 생계급여 수급 가구 대학생이다.

지원 규모는 월세의 경우 월 최대 10만 원, 기숙사비의 경우 학기당 납부 총액의 30%이다.

단, 기존 주거 지원사업과는 중복 지원되지 않으며, 특히 ‘청년월세 한시 특별 지원사업’과 겹칠 경우 대상에서 제외된다.

신청을 희망하는 학생은 신청서, 재학증명서, 임대차계약서, 기숙사비 납부 영수증 등 구비서류를 준비해 주소지 관할 읍·면사무소에 제출하면 된다.

특히 해남군은 최근 지역 내 청년 1인 가구와 대학생들의 주거 불안정 문제가 심각하다고 지적했다.

실제로 군에 따르면, 외지 대학에 진학한 학생들 중 다수가 월세 부담으로 아르바이트를 병행하며 학업에 어려움을 겪고 있으며, 지역 내 자취방과 원룸 월세가 평균 25만 원 이상으로 조사돼 가계에 큰 부담이 되고 있다.

일부 학생들은 주거비 마련을 위해 학자금 대출 외에도 생활비 대출까지 떠안는 경우도 있어 주거안정 지원이 절실한 상황이다.

군 관계자는 “주거비 지원을 통해 저소득 가정의 대학생들이 학업에 전념할 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 것이 목표”라며, “해당되는 대학생들은 기한 내 꼭 신청해 달라”고 당부했다.

Haenam County to Support Rent and Dormitory Fees for College Students from Basic Livelihood Recipient Households

Haenam County is launching a special policy project in 2025 to ease the housing cost burden for college students from households receiving basic livelihood benefits.
This initiative is designed to provide practical assistance to local students who are continuing their studies under difficult financial circumstances.
The application period runs from September 2 to September 15, 2025, and eligible applicants are college students from basic livelihood recipient households who are currently living in rental housing or dormitories.
The support includes up to 100,000 KRW per month for rent and 30% of the total semester dormitory fee. However, duplicate support is not allowed, and students who already receive benefits under the “Temporary Youth Monthly Rent Special Support Program” will be excluded.
Applicants must prepare the required documents, including the application form, certificate of enrollment, lease agreement, and dormitory fee receipt, and submit them to their local township (eup/myeon) office within the application period.
Haenam County has emphasized that housing insecurity among young single households and college students has become a serious local issue. According to the county, many students enrolled in universities outside the region are struggling to balance part-time jobs with their studies due to high rent costs. In Haenam, the average monthly rent for boarding houses and one-room apartments exceeds 250,000 KRW, placing a heavy burden on household finances. Some students are forced to take out not only student loans but also additional living expense loans, highlighting the urgent need for housing stability support.
A county official stated, “Our goal is to create an environment where students from low-income families can focus on their studies by reducing their housing expenses. We encourage all eligible students to apply within the designated period.”
