제10회 진도군수배 호남권 생활체육 탁구대회가 지난 8월 30일부터 31일까지 이틀간 진도군 실내체육관에서 성황리에 열렸다.

이번 대회에는 호남권 각지에서 약 600명의 생활체육 동호인들이 참가해 토너먼트 방식으로 열띤 경기를 펼쳤다.

대회는 진도군체육회가 주최하고 진도군탁구협회가 주관했다.

개회식에는 김희수 진도군수를 비롯해 조규철 진도군체육회장, 박용수 전라남도탁구협회장이 참석해 참가 선수단을 격려하고 환영의 뜻을 전했다.

특히 올해 대회는 다양한 연령대의 생활체육인들이 참가해 탁구를 통한 세대 간 소통과 화합의 장이 되었으며, 진도를 찾은 참가자와 가족들이 관광지와 특산품을 함께 즐기며 약 1억 원 규모의 경제적 파급 효과가 기대된다.

김희수 진도군수는 “탁구는 작은 공 하나로 나이, 성별, 지역을 넘어 누구나 함께 즐길 수 있는 포용적 스포츠”라며 “앞으로도 진도군이 생활체육 활성화와 탁구 저변 확대에 적극 지원하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Jindo County Successfully Hosts the 10th Jindo County Governor’s Cup Honam Sports-for-All Table Tennis Tournament
― 600 Participants, Boosting Local Economy Through Sports and Tourism ―
The 10th Jindo County Governor’s Cup Honam Sports-for-All Table Tennis Tournament was successfully held over two days, from August 30 to 31, at the Jindo Indoor Gymnasium.
This year’s event brought together around 600 amateur athletes from across the Honam region, who competed in an intense single-elimination (tournament) format.
The tournament was hosted by the Jindo County Sports Council and organized by the Jindo County Table Tennis Association.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jindo County Governor Kim Hee-su, Jindo County Sports Council President Cho Gyu-cheol, and Jeollanam-do Table Tennis Association President Park Yong-su, who welcomed the athletes and expressed their support.
This year’s competition, in particular, saw participation from a wide range of age groups, creating a platform for intergenerational exchange and harmony through table tennis. In addition, participants and their families enjoyed local tourist attractions and purchased regional specialties, generating an estimated direct economic impact of around 100 million KRW.
Governor Kim Hee-su stated, “Table tennis is an inclusive sport that transcends age, gender, and regional boundaries with just a small ball,” adding, “Jindo County will continue to actively support sports-for-all initiatives and the further promotion of table tennis.”
