진도군 여성의용소방대, 오목화 연합회장 연임… 지역 안전 지킴이 역할 강화

진도소방서(서장 김재출)는 지난 8월 21일 진도군 여성의용소방대 연합회장으로 오목화 회장이 연임됐다고 밝혔다.

임명장은 9월 1일 김재출 서장이 전라남도지사를 대신해 직접 전수했다.

오 회장은 2017년 임회면 여성의용소방대에 입대한 뒤 2020년 여성대장, 2023년 연합회장에 잇따라 선출되며 꾸준히 리더십을 발휘해 왔다.

이번 연임으로 앞으로 3년간 진도군 여성의용소방대를 대표하며 대원들과 함께 지역 안전을 위해 봉사하게 된다.

의용소방대는 화재와 재난 발생 시 소방 활동을 보조하고, 평상시에는 안전 캠페인과 봉사활동을 통해 주민들의 안전과 복지 향상에 앞장서는 조직이다.

오 회장은 현직에서 어업에 종사하면서도 책임감과 헌신으로 대원들의 신뢰를 받으며, 각종 안전 교육과 지역사회 봉사에 적극 참여해 왔다.

김재출 진도소방서장은 “오목화 연합회장은 책임감과 헌신을 바탕으로 의용소방대의 화합과 발전에 크게 기여했다.”며, “앞으로도 지역 안전을 위한 활동에서 중추적인 역할을 이어가 주기를 기대한다.”고 전했다.

한편, 진도소방서는 이번 임명에 따라 후속 절차를 차질 없이 진행하고, 의용소방대가 안정적으로 운영될 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 이어갈 방침이다.

Jindo County Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade Chairwoman Oh Mok-hwa Reappointed… Strengthening Role as Community Safety Guardian
The Jindo Fire Station (Chief Kim Jae-chul) announced that Oh Mok-hwa has been reappointed as Chairwoman of the Jindo County Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade as of August 21.
The letter of appointment was formally presented on September 1 by Chief Kim Jae-chul, on behalf of the Governor of Jeollanam-do.
Chairwoman Oh joined the Imhoe-myeon Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade in 2017, was appointed brigade leader in 2020, and was subsequently elected as county chairwoman in 2023, consistently demonstrating her leadership. With this reappointment, she will serve another three-year term, representing the women’s volunteer firefighters of Jindo County and dedicating herself to community safety.
The Volunteer Fire Brigade supports firefighting operations during fires and disasters, while also leading safety campaigns and volunteer activities to enhance the safety and welfare of local residents. Despite her work in the fishing industry, Chairwoman Oh has earned the trust of her fellow members and the community through her dedication and active involvement in safety education and community service.
Chief Kim Jae-chul of the Jindo Fire Station remarked, “Chairwoman Oh Mok-hwa has made great contributions to the unity and development of the Volunteer Fire Brigade with her sense of responsibility and devotion. We look forward to her continued leadership in safeguarding the community.”
Meanwhile, the Jindo Fire Station stated it will carry out the necessary follow-up procedures without delay and continue providing support to ensure the stable operation of the Volunteer Fire Brigade.
